Single Peeps - Do Holidays Like Easter Suck Or Is It Just Me ?

I'm getting ready to go out with a group of cool people, and it will probably end up being a good night (insert between the lines meaning here) but cannot help but feeling just how much more satisfying staying in and watching a bad DVD with that special someone would be...

Am I just getting romantic and soppy in my old age ?

Am I just getting bored with the same-old same-old party lifestyle ?

Am I just kidding myself ?

It always seems to peak at the usual times... Christmas, Valentines, Easter ....

What do you think ?

:Oh crap

Fake made-up holidays to convert people to Christianity are always depressing for me too.

I'm not a big fan of christmas or easter or any of those things, they all suck!

I concur, Holidays blow goats.

Vitasoy 04-16-2006 07:18 AM

Really has no effect on me. I approach every day the same

Scootermuze 04-16-2006 07:25 AM

They've all pretty much gotten lost in the commercial world..

It's all about running to buy the kids new Easter outfits, buying candy, yada yada..

But I do think the old timey neighborhood egg hunts are kind of fun in that folks are brought together for a nice visit..

I agree to a certain point. Its all what you make it. I've spent Christmas completly alone a couple years ago and in when I woke up, I got a bit depressed but then I said to myself, "I'm not going to just sit around and mope". I made a huge breakfast, watched parades, opened presents with my dogs and got real drunk. It wasn't so bad.

Lindsay - you can come hang with me anytime. I promise a fun holiday :)

Thanks dude, and I may take you up on that.

So long as you don't mind spooning in the morning.

:thumbsup :pimp :1orglaugh :winkwink:

it's just another day whether you are single or not....
I don't give a crap either way stamp a lable on a day get all excited by some stupid presents and silly shaped chocolates all for the sake of some fairy tale seems a little retarded to me. Good for the kids pain in the ass for anyone else IMHO

Herb Kornfield 04-16-2006 09:02 AM

Altho im not big into the whole holiday thing, it is a blast to see all the wild hats that the old ladies get down with.

Beats any pimp hat out there by a country mile

Geeezer 04-16-2006 09:08 AM

Easter is a load of bollocks, not as bad as Xmas though

Cyndalie 04-16-2006 09:14 AM

I'd rather be going to the zoo.

divinity 04-16-2006 10:24 AM

it sucks to wake up alone on the holidays..

Due to circumstances from last year, my Family pretty much decided not to celebrate Easter this year. My brother and SIL did baskets and hunts for the girls, but other than that, we're all hanging low.

i just spend my holiday's with my family:thumbsup

wyldblyss 04-16-2006 11:00 AM

Our holidays are no longer the big family affairs they once were because sadly enough the majorty of those people have passed on.

Our holidays are more casual now, just hubby and I and the kids. There is something comforting in just hanging out and watching that bad DVD with someone that is always there :)

I wish that someone for you

Awww Peaches I thought of that this morning *squeeze* :( Time to be thankful for what we DO have and remind ourselves that life could be so much worse than just being single, heartbroken, or not at our peak.

I'm digging hanging low this year, watching a little Jesus of Nazareth and I'm going to conquer a great bottle of wine tonight and not do too much at all.
