Question about hired designers
 

I hired a local guy to do some small work on the side. I pay him per hour and he does good. I have him doing some logo / trademark stuff and my question is since I'm paying him to create this stuff for me, I own the rights to the logo / trademarks he creating? Some of it I want to register with the US PTO, so I want to make sure it's mine to do so. Thanks in advance.
