After doing some research I found out that the newest incarnation of the Kern/Klez virus forges the "From:" headers on the emails it sends out. Sending them from any email address it finds in the system it infects. So if you are like me and send out a lot of email to various people for various reasons your email(s) are going to be in a lot of people's systems, so when they get infected... those emails start going out making look like I'm the one sending them.

Someone mentioned on here last week or the week before that someone was sending viruses out fromtheir email. THis is probably the answer to that. Anyway, you can find the details at [email protected] target='_new'>http://[email protected]

Thanks bro... have a friend who got the damn email asking him to delete a certain file in his window DIR, gee what a genius...

i've been getting anywhere from 3-15 email messages a day from random people, random titles.. it seems to be faking the From: header and putting in people from the virus sender's address book (or who they may be sending mail to..) and i wind up getting a message that has a ".wav" file attached, but it's really an executable.

How much longer do you think it will be until this virus is done? I'm sick of getting countless emails everyday from people I never met with the most bizzare titles.
