How are you all getting money back, did you have other non self employed jobs? Or did you overpay your estimated taxes?

Eric 04-14-2006 11:54 AM

Just got off the phone a few minutes ago with my girl. She is done with mine and I go Monday to sign the papers. Nice return this year. I guess I am going to have to claim a few more dependants this year. Need to get that return to zero. Better to put the money not in the government savings account that earns me 0% interest!

After Shock Media 04-14-2006 11:57 AM

Ok seriously.
Those that are getting refunds (I still think they are bad), please explain how you are getting money back or why.

true that

i normally claim like 7 until july and then swap it back to 0 or 1.

seeric 04-14-2006 12:03 PM

you gotta remember asm, most of the money i claim comes from corps where i am on the payroll. the stuff that i do on the side for my own businesses is not part of what i did today. thats a whole diff ballgame. i think returns are bad too.

i dont handle any of that nightmare shit for small business. thats another nice man thats been watching over me for years ;)

Azlord 04-14-2006 12:04 PM

I love the feeling when you get your taxes done. Like a huge weight lifted from your chest. It actually more like taking a dump after letting a 2lb Chipoltle burrito digest... yah, that's more like it.

rants 04-14-2006 01:38 PM

How much do you think someone has to make before they bother getting incorporated and doing all that complicated crap? I procrastinated too much on my taxes this yr so i can't really talk to an accountant about it for advice, im just doing it last minute on Turbo Tax.

This year I made around 80k, I don't think that's enough income to warrant getting incorporated and all that stuff? Plus I don't own any propery and don't have any investments so I don't think it's necessary... is that right?

This yr will be my first 6 fig income but its only low 6 figs (under 200k) so I dont know if its time to get incorporated? I heard that incorporating just makes you pay MORE taxes so it's not necessary unless you have a complicated setup...

Plus all I do is submit galleries so I don't really need any protection from liabilities...

Also Airek, did Ragecash sent out 1099's last yr? I didnt' get anything even tho i made over $600... ??

i think you are more than ready then. its not really about how much you make, its about what kind of protection and what kind of benefits you want to reap from being an INC.

not necessarily true on the paying more taxes thing.

we did send 1099 to all WMs that are u.s. based and foreign that have requested.

if you want icq me man. no prob.

Wiggles 04-14-2006 01:50 PM

incorporated has its benefits, especially if in a business friendly state like nevada. My corporate return only requires me to sign it, I pay no taxes on what the corporation makes... but I do pay taxes on my personal return which winds up being more then I really want to pay taxes on.
