web server load testing

does anyone of you know sites where i can run some tests of my web server? like load time, etc. i guess i need something like http://www.alertsite.com

"ab" is great, it comes with the Apache source.
If you want one for Wintendo, there is "Microsoft Web Application Stress Tool". I've never used it, so I don't really know if it's good or bad.

thanks, never heard of it :( going to check my apache distribution now :) it'd be useful for my dedicated machine but i need to run a few tests on a virtual account (no telnet access)... so a site that offers such a remote service would be a good idea... anyone?
