FiOS does anyone have it yet?

I just had FiOS installed at my home a few days ago... this is definitely the future.

Down 15 Mbps
Up Load 2 Mbps

It seems to be about three times as fast as cable... I'm still testing it out but it seems very fast. In the information pack it said that they will soon be offering phone and television service over the same fiber-optic line.

I would love to get it if it was available.. It's so limited right now :(

...and I'm wondering what type of the demand this is going to put on the hosting industry... people will deftly start to downloading larger and larger files with connections like this... I wonder how long into the future a saying like this will be common... "could you e-mail me that DVD movie"?

...this may actually happen sooner then a lot of people think... I was speaking with a technician who did the installation... and he said that the fiber optic cable was made out of plastic and actually less expensive then running new copper lines (for DSL)... he also mention that the maintenance was less expensive and more reliable... this may be the reason why the phone companies could possibly deploy this fast... plus the biggest reason it will allow the phone company to compete with the cable company (by delivering other $ervices over fiber).

The city I just moved from was one of 4 Verizon test cities for FIOS, I had it for the last year and I have to say it is AWESOME! You can actually get higher than 15/2 if you pay a little more. We were getting 15/2 for $29.95 a month.

We have now have Roadrunner premium which is 8 down and god knows what up, and I do miss my FIOS.
