Do St Kilda & South Yarra, do the CBD for the nightlife, do the Docklands and Federation Square. Go visit the Carlton Gardens, Crown Casino complex and South Bank. And that's about all I can think of. :)

There are no games at the MCG on the dates you are there. Only one game at all in Melb and that is at the Telstra Stadium North Melbourne vs Carlton.
Telstra Stadium is not in the same class as the MCG but it is a state of the art stadium seating around 55 thousand, and any AFL match is a good one to see. Just turn up an hour before kickoff which is around 7pm and buy a ticket as it will not be a sellout. |
Forgot to mention, you can still go to the MCG as there are tours that you can do. It is perhaps the best stadium in the world and is well worth looking around.
