Nikon Coolscan, Kodachrome & 25 free sets.

Have a problem, got 100s of old sets that are waiting to be scanned. In the old days we used only Kodachrome.

The problem is that when we scan Kodachrome with the Nikon Coolscan 2000 or 4000 we get a shadow off the dark colours on to the light colours and the image is also VERY soft. Except if we turn off the ICE but then it takes 3-5 days to clean the images.

25 free sets of your choices to the person that comes up with the answer.

I must have missed something. Usually a question ends with a question mark. Did you ask a question?

Why would I want a bunch of your content that I can not use for my TGP stuff anyway?

You can use our content on TGPs. If you just run TGPs it's not a problem. On the normal sets you can post up to 25 onto TGPs. With the Budget range you can post as many as you like as many time as you like.

Thanks for pointing out my poor grammar:321GFY

Do you know the answer??????????

sinomatic 05-07-2002 11:31 PM

why not just fix it in what ever image editor you use?

hyper 05-07-2002 11:35 PM

You cannot scan Kodachrome with ICE

Try VUEscan

Of course I know the answer but more importantly, I know the guy who signs the checks at Adult.com

When did you change your license? A friend of mine bought from you and he lets me use the content too but he said it could not be used on TGP's.

We changed our license a couple of moths ago. not sure if your freind is not in violation of his license, he is not allowed to give away content. Will have to follow this one.

hyper 05-07-2002 11:45 PM

i answered the question :)

Good luck. I have seen you post a bit here and on other boards. I feel pretty confident that you are not competent enough to figure it out.

Gemini 05-07-2002 11:59 PM

We've had good luck scanning pics and regular portrait style (even the old B&W and the sepia tones) photographs all the way back in to the 30's with an older scanner we have. Never have used this ICE or the newer (last 2 yrs or so) software. They seem to come out just fine.

Try that or if you don't have an older one, we might work a deal with you to do it for you. :)

Probably not but at least now eveyone knows that you steal content. It was not sold to you.

So who can give me this Spacebulldogs URL?

For 25 sets and a new license agreement, I will give it to you. :321GFY

I did not steal anything. He gave it to me.

You use content you did not pay for. This is not stealing. No it makes your mate a thief and you are using content you do not own. Makes you a pirate.

So by your logic if somebody answers your questionless question and then they use the 25 free sets that they did not pay for then they are a theif too.

If nobody gets this question, I should have an answer for you by morning.. but I can't get in touch with my digital photo guy right now... DAMN.. I could really use some content to do some site redesigns.

It's the software he is using
you cant use it with Kodachrome

bawdy 05-08-2002 01:00 AM

try a flying spot scanner

Paul Markham 05-08-2002 06:29 AM

Hyper the program you said about does not do such a good job with our scanners. It's still a very soft image.

Someone else had the solution. It came from a client.

We used the old program for Nikon on windows 98, 2000 programs will not do it.

So this is closed.

Since when do you have the power or respect from others to consider a thread to be closed?

Looks to me like a couple of people offered you fixes and you are trying to get out of giving them content. I am not positive but I think you tried to pull that same bullshit awhile back.

Charly sure is tight-fisted with the old content, isn't he? Any old loophole to keep from paying up!

You sound like an idiot, but I could be wrong. Anyone with a brain would not admit on a public message board, especially one of this size, that he uses content someone else "gives" him, when this other person didn't have the rights or authority to "give" it. That's called pirated content mutha fucka.

Holy shit! He is at it again? WTF is this guy thinking?

You are right about him doing this before. It is all right here in this thread. He got caught there too and had to pay up.

I tell ya... Some peoples kids....

Careful Unseen. We do not want to be accused of picking on all the other content providers again.

OneBallJohn 05-08-2002 02:31 PM
