Hey

I run a movie site, http://www.bigxvids.com which gets around 40-50k of traffic

The prob is though, that I keep having trouble turning the damn surfers into signups

Was wondering if anyone could take a quick look at my site and maybe suggest a new advertising method or sponsor, coz I really am stuck atm

Make your sponsoros more visible.
Use different programs.

Dude check out www.fuckingfreemovies.com , same concept as yours but they get about 5x more traffic a day. Get some people to advertise on your site, I think they charge like $250 a week for a reg banner. I think that you should be making around 4k easy with just adds on your site. But that's just my :2 cents:

your design and layout looks fine, but im thinking you need to push a sale harder somehow.

use movie type sites to promote.

I think platnium bucks has some site you could try that is designed to look like a total movie type site. THat may work.

What boneprone said... right now, you're using the low-end CJ TGP technique, tons of perm blind links, all you're doin right now is tradin traffic around, and using a FNP site?

What I'd do? Put a SMALLER toplist than the one in the middle, at the top, with your 15-20 best trades.

Dont put as many as ya have, it'll just reduce your bookmarkers.

Swap out the right blind links, for some banners, maybe some juicy movie text or even free samples, and a big ol' vertical ad there... make sure ya have some text along with it if you use a banner.

Just beware, you'll drop your traffic if you rely heavily on those thumbs, if you can monitor it, change the top few and see how it affects your trades.

Your site is popular because it is so hard to get to the part where you say to the surfer "listen fuck face get your credit card out"..shove a banner directly under your main title logo.. even better still make a warning page like this one:

I know it's a bit of spam, but they convert fairly well for me good days its 1:300, average days it's around 1:450-650

Um, you should really check out some of the well known movie sites and see what they have for banners. I would probably just contact those companies that advertise, show them that I have the traffic that they can utilize and maybe give them some kind of a competitive rate which beats the competition. But that's just my :2 cents:

I guess, but if you sell it with conjuction with something else, like a video store or a toy store, I've found that they convert fairly well. But I just started to use them, lexxx advised me against it but so far so good. I have noticed some drop off in sales lately though. But the first 4 months were great

place really good thumbs on the top part of your site and have them open to really nice sales page,,,,

then take the top 10 gallery listings for yourself,,, or better yet list only your own galleries,,,,

50k site then i assume you get like 250,000 out clicks,,
and if you using 75% for galleries than that means you'll get
187,500 page views to your galleries then the rest for your trades,,,,,

so out of 187,500 page views to your galleries say 3% click to your sponsers then that'll make 5625 clicks to your sponsers,,,
with that in mine say your converting 1 out 650 (average)
that'll approximately get you like 8 sign ups a day!!!

8X35=$280 a day!!!!

my main sponsor on the site, volumebrokers, is converting at around 1:5000. all the links with a "hot" next to em lead to a volumebrokers sales page

it's not surprising tho, since most of the ppl that click on these links are thinking they're going to a gallery page with free movies

if i converted at 1:600 i'd be making crazy cash eheh

just gotta find another way to promote i guess :/

I'm telling you man , with that kind of traffic you have really good potential. Either to make money on ads or sponsors or both. Just try different combos. But first visit some of the most successful movie sites and see what they got.

try ungrouping all of the gallery links like this.

put maybe 6 or 8 galleries at first, (charge for those spots)
why? because you want to get the surfer warmed up. he will probably buy more often either thru the gallery page or your sponsor you place underneath the top spots
then the rest of the galleries.
