I am trying to compile a list of necessities and recommended items to have available when filming. Please assist and add to the list. Thank you!

When shooting on location, I often take along a 300w Powerwattz AC inverter as a power source backup (for lighting, cameras, etc.). Holds a good 6-hour charge and its ideal for places that don't have an available power outlet.

I'd also add laptop PC to the list - its handy to dump camera images to during breaks in shooting and gives the opportunity to view shots in larger format rather than relying on a tiny camera LCD viewer.

sometimes I take a generator and of course toys if needed . . .
and all the replacement parts for my lighting gear as well as a few small hand tools . . and a .45 for shooting outside too . . nothing feels worse that standing in the woods with a nude model and a bunch of gang bangers show up . .

How about putty a sticky note on your camera that says "shut the fuck up and don't breathe into the microphone".

Make sure that you have a ton of extra tapes, memory cards, etc... also make sure that you have the needed card reader to transfer your images to your laptop if you want to keep shooting past your memory card limits. You should always have enough memory cards to shoot longer than the total length of time of your shoot anyway.

You might want to add a regular monopod or stabilizing monopod.

I can think of a bunch more, but that is a good start.

Don't forget to have plenty of back-up phone numbers so you can replace the model who calls in "sick" 15 minutes before the call-time.
