VEROTEL or PAYCOM ??? that is the question!

If you were forced into a corner and had to choos between paycom and Verotel who would you choose and why?
Love to hear some thoughts.

I would choose Paycom... then again... I don't really know Verotel. I just know I got a good contact at paycom...

Kimmykim 04-11-2006 09:51 AM

There is no question here.

I guess she is very pleased with your answer. It's so clear.

What an idiot you are. Why don't you stop playing hot shot and try to grow up a bit ?

Thanks guys! I would like to keep both, I have had good results with Verotel, but according to paycom they cannot be used in conjunction with Verotel. Makes no sense to me, but who am I to argue with their policies.

PayCom is a US company, if that makes a difference.

where are you located?

We are located in the U.S.

Paycom would be the choice of those 2.
But why is CCBill out of the running?

seven 04-11-2006 10:42 AM

definitely paycom. verotel script makes it easy for hackers to add user/pass to your passfile. most of the time verotel script will fail to remove an user upon expiry of membership so he's granted a lifetime membership at your site until someone cracks that username in which case your password protection script removes that username for you and unless ofcourse your passfile is so small that you can manually add/delete user/passes everyday :2 cents:

Because you cannot process VISA in 2 different regions ....

Rules of Visa USA ( and maybe Intl also ).

You want both ... create a mirror site, or geoip page, or ... be creatve.

Why don't you mind your own business if you don't like my answer? Paycom has been around forever, and while they did occasionally have issues years ago, their track record for payments is spot on for the last few years.

Of course they told her she can't use Paycom and Verotel in the same cascade -- and it's a good thing for her that they did. You are NOT allowed to settle transactions for the same URL in different card association regions. If you do that and you are caught by compliance, Visa and MC will tell the bank to terminate all your processing.

I don't see her saying that Verotel informed her of that fact...

I would run to PAYCOM

SwirlsGirl 04-11-2006 11:08 AM

Wow, thats a very interesting point KimmyKim, thanks for the clarity. You are right Verotel acted as if it was not an issue and that paycom was out of line. The reps at ccbill said that the cross border sales really were such a small and remote possibility that something would become of it that it was nothing to worry about. Anyway I guess I have enough info to make an informed decision, thanks to you all!

Which begs my question, why do I see sites all over the place using Verotel of their Ticketsclub site in conjunction with US billers such as CCBill and Paycom?

Calvinguy 04-11-2006 11:14 AM

Without knowing it I have the feeling these card regulations are only "worldwide" in the US region. I doubt Verotel violates the regulations where they reside.

I can't answer it for you, since I don't know why people would take that sort of risk with their ability to process their transactions.

I will not allow any of my merchant account clients to settle out of compliance, and they all know exactly what they need to do in order to be compliant. It's silly to risk your livelihood over something that is so easily structured as to be within the guidelines.
