Playboy Racing #19 has a bad day at the Beach.
Grand-Am: Two injured at Long Beach.
Daytona Prototype drivers Memo Gidley and Rocky Moran Jr both suffered at the hands of the imposing Long Beach concrete on Saturday.
Former Champ Car racer Gidley sustained a compression to the L1 vertebra and a minimal compression to the T12 vertebra when he crashed his #19 Playboy/Uniden Racing Crawford-Ford during Saturday morning's final warm-up session.
Gidley was transported to the nearby St Mary's Medical Centre and was replaced by Alex Barron for the inaugural Crown Royal Grand American Challenge. However Gidley had been released by the conclusion of the race.
Get well Memo, and get back to racing QUICK! :)
