What are you paying for a maid/housecleaner?
 

And how often do they clean your place? I'm not really sure how often I need somebody, pretty clueless to how this whole thing works.

Friends girl friend does it.
House cleans twice a week.

I'm torn between hiring an individual and going through a service. I'm leary of getting ripped off, which has me leaning towards a service as I believe they have insurance for this type of thing. Any input?

Yeah the bonded placed are a safer bet.

i pay 350/week, 2 polish girls come every saturday morning, mop the floors upstairs and downstairs, clean the bathrooms, dust, vacuum the basement, clean the kitchen, empty dishes if theyre in the dishwasher, stick any dirty dishes into dishwasher, wash/fold laundry and even wipe down and vacuum the cars. i love them and i don't think i could live without them lol.

I have used both services and the individuals...

The services suck because the girl has only enough time to get some shit done... If you need her to do anything extra, she can't, she has 3 other houses to clean so no way... They can possibly send another girl by later but it will cost a lot more. The girls are usually new... Old customers get long time girls and new customers get the rookies... So get ready to train her... And if they rotate each time they come, get ready to train a lot of them.

The individual will offer you what you need and want. She will stay for as long as you are willing to pay her. She will try to please you because she wants your business and has chosen this line of work. She didn't just fall into it and dread everyday of it.

I paid $50 for the service and they came every 2 weeks. If the service rotated the girls, the girl you get might addon a service for $20 and you don't know until you get your bill. Then you cannot complain to her because you won't see her again for months...

I have paid between $60 and $80 every two weeks for the individual girls. They don't fuck around and are professional. I am not affraid of a girl who will be with me for years... she will not rip me off.

I am affraid of service girls. They can swipe my gold plated zippo lighter and I wouldn't know until I go to play poker again... They can do lots of things that I wouldn't know about for weeks... Then who do I blaim?

Those are some interesting points I never thought of. So how would I go about finding an individual? And should I just do regular "due diligence" or is there something specific I should be looking into about her?

I agree about getting an individual. I've tried the services and one day you'll get a good crew, the next time a crappy one. Plus one group stole some earrings from me :(

As neighbors for recommendations - a lot of times if someone does your house the same day they do a neighbor's they'll knock a few dollars off each one.

I was paying $55 a week for mine - 4br/2.5 baths, living room, den, breakfast room, dining room kitchen. $10 extra to clean the oven or fridge. But she was a gem. I would move her up here if she'd let me. No one around here wants to really "clean" :(

I pay $8 a day, chick comes in 2-3 times a week and scrubs everything down until the place is gleaming, does laundry, dishes, and will make a meal before she leaves if I ask.

Living in SoCal, definately go for the service. We've used numerous individuals and almost everytime they were referred by someone who had used them for years. But, soon enough we found out they were stealing small odds and ends like the lighter mentioned. Things you don't notice for months and then you typically blame yourself for losing them. Even though the services are more strict on time, schedule, etc, the insurance/bonding is worth it!

Sorry...we pay about $350/month for cleaning/dishes every 2 weeks for a 2400 sq ft home.

$60/week, cleaning (no dishes) for a 2,100 sq foot home, includes moppping, dusting, vaccuming, bathrooms, wiping down stainless steel appliances.

I lower my own salary for 2 hours per day, and just do it myself.

80/week. She does everything for about 4 hours. She was referred by a friend. I work from home so I hear when she is. she does the office first and then I am back in here hanging out. The only crappy thing is you have to cover and pick up any notes on our business. Or i feel a need to.

I always think of switching to eyecandy. But clean is good.

A buddy of mine got a nice Polish girl with a great rack. She dresses up in the uniform and the whole bit. She is so fucking hot I wonder why she is a maid in the first place. When I asked him if he ever tried fucking her, he said she actually initiated it and then worked out a deal where she will blow him if he wants it. If he does, he sits in a certain chair while she does the living room. She bends over, front and rear and stuff. Then blows him and they go back to what they were doing...

He is getting married now though... I asked if his old lady knows about the rest of the services and he said no way... I asked if he is going to keep her and he said probably not. Wouldn't tell me the price for either service. I guess she does the cleaning for the entire fire house so he got her number from work.

They are there about 4-5 hours each time. The $350 is for both visits. We have a model home with all porcelain floors, custom tile, cherry cabinets, etc, so it takes a little more work to keep it nice.
