Nofx,

If you're willing to write out the justification for each IP address, I can put you in touch with someone.

Damian_Maxcash 04-09-2006 02:51 PM

You do know how much 200 class c's would cost?

nofx 04-09-2006 03:00 PM

$1 per ip

MrIzzz 04-09-2006 03:01 PM

i have a commodore 64 for sale

Wilbo 04-09-2006 03:06 PM

So am I correct in estimating that 256 IP numbers per class C times 200 would be $51,200.00 per month just for IP numbers?

I think he just wants 200 IPs, for $200/mo, each ip being on a different class C subnet

nofx 04-09-2006 03:09 PM

that would be correct

I phrased wrong, I just need 200 ips, not individual class c's ;]

wow, so generous, omg.

I am a little confused here, I understand that you want 200 IP's, but I don't know how many Class C's you want them spread out over.

www.GotwebHost.com can provide up to 62 individual Class C's . . . I would predict that eventually we will cover 200 different Class C subnets, but they will never all be available at the same time.

Our clients that need massive numbers of C's pick them while they are available to accumulate the number they need (ie: get 60 now, and add new ones as they are obtained).

any sites hosted on an experimental class E ip address are by default given a pr ranking of 7 by google. because these ip addresses are regulated and controlled by government research facilities, any site hosted on them is seen as an authority for any subject they may cover.

anyone in the seo game knows about this.

I try to be pretty careful when crosslinking, wonder if google dudes ever check whois info and ban sites based on that.

FuqALot 04-10-2006 01:14 AM

I wouldn't go with hosting that 'specializes' in c classes. You know their users want it for some reason. I suggest you simply use the 10 biggest hosting companies out there. They have enough ip classes to give you some, and the ips will then be really different and not just different by a few numbers and such.

kuthi123 04-10-2006 02:11 AM

try hostland.com they give differenet ip per domain.but you have to wait to add accounts to get different class c ips, and ips are shared to other members also.

IP Address Class E and Limited Broadcast
The IPv4 networking standard defines Class E addresses as reserved, meaning that they should not be used on IP networks. Some research organizations use Class E addresses for experimental purposes. However, nodes that try to use these addresses on the Internet will be unable to communicate properly.
PR7? :)

There is no indication of that happening. We expect in the future that they may eventually start checking nameservers which is why we use a different nameserver for every Class C.

Yeah, because it works. Yes, you can go to 10, 20 or 30 different hosts and deal with 10, 20 or 30 different bills, control panels, contacts, personalities, etc, etc., or you can go to one and deal with one.

It is a matter of convenience. With over 60 Class C's available at 3 datacenters we have not only different class C's, but several Class A's as well.

Why would you recommend anyone use hosting for SEO purposes that resulted in them sharing IP's with others?
