I think i may have had another heart attack last nite...
Dammit. im doing everything the drs are telling me to do. Taking shitloads of meds and staying off my feet, keeping my legs propped up and shit. Watching what i eat, etc. Yet last nite around 6 im sitting here discussing some stuff with a collegue and all of a sudden my chest starts hurting like a mofo and its still hurting some. Im not one to panic when it happens. Ive had chest pains off and on all my life, but the drs told me that I have had at least one heart attac in the last 10 years and didnt even know it. I just didnt feel like going to the ER and having them tell me it was something else last nite.. lol And im still here and kicking this morning so it couldnt have been that bad, right?? lol Anyway, also went to the wound care center last Wednesday and they changed the way the wound dressing is dressed, but other than that they told me tht it seems to be progressing well, and is slowly healing. The dr did say that he wants me to see the plastic surgeon again soon to maybe start skin grafts. He said other wise it will take 6-12 months or even more for the wound tofill in and heal via the wound vac that im on now. He said not only will it be lonig and painful, but the fact is my insurance company might even start balking at payments after that long a therapy. So.... skin grafts are in my near future. Luckily as a fat guy I have plenty of extra skin to gvo around lmao Just not looking forward to more pain. By the way, that new dr woujldnt give me any more pain meds last week. I guess he thinks im getting better, which i am. But sometimes in the middle of the night I still wake up screaming in pain and agony and have to make do with tylenols or aleves, which sometimes work and sometimes dont :helpme

Sounds like you need to loose some weight on top of healing your leg
|
thought I was having heart probs a few years ago . . serious chest pains etc . . was stress and anxiety . . your text would imply some amount of stress . . see the dr

tall order when you're on the mend from something like that. Not like he can get up and jog a few miles. Being sick, he might naturally lose weight. But, that comes back easily. Rehab is no doubt on the list. Wishing you the best bjjb. |
Actually I forgot to mention that I sent that pic to a friend of mine in oz who is a nurse and specialzes in that sort of thing. Even she said 'ouch' and she deals with it every day.
I spoke to her on the phone and she didnt really come up with anything that you dont already know. She did question the wisdom of sending you home though - and I have to agree. Its just asking for an infection and any sign that the area around the wound is getting infected get your ass down the hospital ASAP. No messing around. |
Ive lost 13 pounds since I left the hospital so yeah I know ive gotta lose weight lol Working on that. As far as leaving the hospital, my insurance sucks for long term inpatient care. The wound is aklways covered and im on some pretty strong oral antibiotics. Its still got some infection in it, but the drs and nurses said its getting less and less the more they see me.

how old are you? |

I hope the best for you. But isn't waiting to go to the doctor the reason your wound got so bad? Don't wait to get the chest pain checked out. If it's nothing you've lost nothing. If you do have a heart problem, they can usually find it and fix it. I'm sure the thought of more hospital and doctors isn't pleasent, but let um check you out. 41 is too young ta go!

you should've called 911. They would've tested you without taking you to the ER.
|
You would think the way we got 2 of most of the other critical parts of our bodies, that evolution would have developed a backup heart for us also.
Its freakin scary when you think your heart has to beat about 120,000 times a day to keep you alive and if that little miracle pumping machine goes south in any way you're shit outta luck. :1orglaugh |
Damn...seems like you aren't having very good luck as of late :(
|
When my father had his first heart attack, the first thing that the doctors told him, was to get off his ass, and exercise.
|
I had something similar last year, turned out to be angina from stress etc.
I quit smoking and started walking daily. Best of Luck in your recovery and if the pains continue go get checked. :2 cents: |
well im glad you didnt post pics this time, i just ate :)
But seriously.. hope thing get better for you , sucks to hear they are denying you pain meds.. you should get that picture blown up in glossy format then tape it to your forhead when you go in to ask for meds.. i cant see any doctor in his right mind not giving you meds. But be carefull with the meds , some of these new ones seem awfully suspicious.. i tried hydrocodone for pain once and it worked great felt like a street drug , but the next day i had a wicked backache , and i never get backaches, so i took some more hydrocodone.. felt better until the next day again .. i swear that shit GIVES you back pain the next day so you have to keep taking it.. i never even had a back problem , certainly not any pain, for a weerk this went on , every day the paid got worse, until i ran out of hyrdocodone on a friday , the next day was agony , but by sunday the paid was gone , never returned.. maybe it wa sjust fluke but it seemed like the hydrocodone was creating "delayed" pain where there was none previously.. |
