Just had to vent.

They have got to be the dumbest idea ever. TGP's (such as mine) give away enough free porn as it is...but these things are just overkill. I upsell to movie sites & shit but what is the point of upselling to movie sites when they can download 200 ten second clips, send it to a media player, & sit back with their dick in their hand. All that shit did was give them a way of making their own porn clip compilation.

So can someone give me the URL of the first MGP ever made? I gotta take a whiz & I'd like to pull it up before I piss on my screen.

Some people like to whack off to more than a 10 second clip. Perhaps that is who you should try to sell too. Also being as you say have a TGP you have contributed to problem of free porn we have today so FUCK OFF.

GatorB: A lot of times the clips they give are some of the best segments of the movie (ie popshots.) Most (if not all) paysites have movies. There may be all pic paysites, but I can't think of any. TGPs can be good to give surfers a picture preview if you target it towards those looking for movies...but with mgps you're giving away what you're selling.

I wouldn't have taken the TGP path at all if searches for stuff like 'porn' & 'porn pics' didn't return 90% TGP sites. I know I can't beat em, so I decided to join em.

What the hell are you talking about?? 10 seconds clips??? Fuck that.. they list 20, 30 or more seconds now!! And what about the nastydollars movie gallery builder... "4 large 1 MINUTE!! clips" WTF! Why is this industry so intent on fucking itself over... Too many short term thinkers around.. make the money today and fuck tomorrow.

True...I have seen longer clips, but I didn't want to say 30 seconds or so cuz I'm not really aware of the norm for movie galleries.

most people don't need much to get off... going by hotel pay per view statistics anyways, the average viewing time of a porno flick is about 4-7 minutes.

every body is giving him crap, but I think that he has a point. There is too much free porn out there, and now, there are a million free movie galleries. Not good... not good...

Thanks czarina. TGPs make far more sense than MGPs in my opinion.

I'll never understand poeple that cry all the time, OMFG there's too much free porn out there, in 1996 we made one signup on every 50 clicks we sent.

Well, when I was a kid my paretnts used to give me 20 cents for the day which was more than enough for a breakfast and a cool drink. Guess what, these times are long gone, so simply move on and ADAPT...

the short clips are good dude! no one makes they're own compilations! don't be daft, the magority of pervert surfers would rather have the proper 20+ minute movies! its just a matter of time before they sign up!

free porn is a good! make the most of it! use it to your advantage! remember they are not getting the full scene, just a taster!

MPGs or TGPs having more content than paid sites is death for not only paid sites but anything porn (webcams, dating, reality etc etc.): once the surfer wanked off and cum all over the keyboard it's over.

If webmasters don't understand what you mean, how do you think surfers will figure out how to download all clips and enque all in Media Player? :)

Where are you getting this "MPGs are the bain of the industry" crap from? I refuse to to even do submissions for picture galleries anymore because movie galleries convert at such a better ratio. The only place i ever place picture galleries is thehun.

Hmm, interesting how TGPs / MGPs tend to get blamed for the volume of free porn on the net.

So, who's supply webmasters with all the free content to build galleries? Certainly not the tgp/mgp owner...they're just a traffic source. Sponsors are supplying the content to any dingle dick with a domain name, a dream, and some cheap ass hosting.

To say one area is giving away too much free porn is kind of ridiculous as if it wasn't on a tgp/mgp its on blogs, picposts, linkdumps, linklists, seo pages, etc, etc, etc, etc.

I agree with Antonio on this...no sense in complaining about something that will never change, just adapt with the times. No sense in complaining about one traffic source when there's 10 other traffic sources supplying just as much free porn. :2 cents:

I certainly hope you're making your millions now because it's just a matter of time before the movie gallery conversions are just as bad.

The bottom line is that in order to chase the dollar, everyone is giving the surfer more and more of what they want. The freeloader is dictating the marketing plan of the porn companies.. First it was pic posts... Then it was picture galleries.. Then low compression 10 second movie clips.. now high res longer movie clips... ND makes it now easy to give them 4 - 1 minute movie clips... pretty soon it will be 5 minute clips... And everyone continues to see declining conversion ratios and wonders why.. The huge sponsors don't really care, it's a milk it for all it's worth attitude.

Movie galleries sells way better than ordinary picture galleries, so I would say that the biz model works fine.

Basically the only group that could slow the amount of free porn on the net would be the sponsors. Taking shots at the traffic sources is kind of ignoring who's supplying the content, who's feeding the system, and who's supplying some stupid webmasters with way too much content. Give a kid unlimited candy and he's going to eat until he's sick...give a noob webmaster tons of content, large video clips, and he will post as much as you give him on any traffic source available to him.

i'd say tgps are worse. tgps are more static than movies. most surfers wouldn't know how to make compliations with media player, hell even i don't. a half minute of movie per gallery is worse than 15-20 high quality pics?

BlackCrayon: Refer to my response to DamageX. And as it was stated earlier a lot of clips are 20 seconds a piece & there's three or four clips per gallery. Anyone with broadband can download 10 minutes of xxx video for free in 5 minutes. I wouldn't think TGPs would be worse because I figured it would be harder for the surfer to get off to a pic gallery rather than a movie gallery.
If they want a full size image they have to click a thumbnail, which will load them a single large picture. This may be enough for some to get off to, but I'd think more surfers would prefer to rub one out to 20 seconds of video vs a large picture.

All in all, I'm just saying that movies shouldnt be handed out so easily. When those are handed out right & left what is the purpose of selling access to a movie site? Granted, as some have stated here, some surfers do want the whole 20 - 40 minute video...& they will join your sponsor site. Congrats.

But any cheap ass who really wants porn videos for free can get them with no problems.

As I stated before, I'm sure most of you have more experience with being adult webmasters & with seeing what converts vs what doesnt.
I wasn't even that pissed when I wrote this...just a bit aggravated that sites like pichunter & xnxx, who give away thousands of video clips, come up so highly on Google that it nearly defeats the purpose of even having anything but your own paysite.

Just my 2 cents. Didn't mean to piss anyone off.

I already stated that it makes more sense to me to upsell to movie sites by showing pics, not by giving away the product itself. I would have just made a free site with 15 - 20 pics but I don't believe I could ever generate the amount of traffic with it that a TGP can.

fris: I didn't say it'd be awesome. But it's a easy way for surfers to compile the most interesting scenes from many different movies...seeing as how most of the clips tend to contain the best parts of the movies. (cumshots, creampies, etc)

I too think that sponsors are shooting themselves in the foot with giving the webmaster too much free content
