.XXX does this only apply to USA?

I attempted to research this on my own, but couldnt find a straight answer. Does this only apply to sites in the United States? If i was in Canada, or any other country for that matter, i could continue to use a .com?

Worldwide...USA if the block they .com's then what?

Send a note to the companies you do biz with ask them what they are doing to make sure the US webmasters are not in favor of this>

The .XXX people who are trying to sell us out are going around telling the world we in favor of this....how will they ever know any different if nobody does anything and from Tom Hymes who is part of the Free Speech group doing battle with .XXX told me in Phoenix that is exactly what the .XXX group is counting on us, our industry being to lazy or not caring about the future of our industry.

So all those instead of another "would you hit it post" why not do some pro active to help our industry and send a message to people like .XXX that they cant take away what is ours and to fuck off:321GFY

So there you go...:2 cents:

I guess it will depend on how they enforce it.

I think all the servers that run .com at the top level are based in the US - so they could enforce it so that it had a worldwide effect.

I dont think those sort of details have been finalised.

Perhaps someone would be willing to create a letter template. I would, but Im not sure i could succesfully accomplish it (correctly). If someone was willing to put some time into a template and a few resources (who to send it to, w/ email & mailing address), i think even lazy people could find time to print it, sign it, and send it... just a suggestion to anyone who has the knowledge, time, and drive to get it done. Id be happy to host it ( i have extra bandwidth to burn).

People that think only the US will pass laws to block .XXX sites are idiots. I read where Sweden already have internet police out there banning websites they determine to be "illegal". Doesn't Germany already have some porn restrictions too? I have no doubt that most countries will either ban .XXX sites or make them an "option" where as the customers have request access to them from the ISP. Yeah how many people are going to do that? Of course ISPs will see this as away to earn more money by charging extra for .XXX access. And good luck gripping to the government and how unfair that is. Also I'm sure the the government will make Microsoft to make .XXX sites not show up by default and that the user has to enable them. And of course since most surfers are retards they won't figure that out.
