deleted over 200 icq contacts
 

Was looking for someone that I hadn't chated with for a while and noticed that a crap load of contacts on my icq I didn't remember who the fuck they were! So I started deleteing, kept count, I deleted 210 contacts, this is probably the second time I've done this, how many contacts are on yours right now that you don't know who they are?

Is there an ez way of doing it?

and can you back up the old list so that if you make a mistake you can go back and retrieve someone?

I even have dead people in my list - and a few that should be.

what vertion are you using as I have to delete someone every time I add a new client ??

i dont have that many contacts on mine, but I'd say a 3rd of them I never see online... might as well drop them

Since for some reason icq likes to keep contacts on their server for me, I can't delete them....so I have a folder on my trillian called "done" and when I see someone that I don't know who it is or haven't chatted with in a long fucking time, I just move them to "done"

I'm thinking about using Trillian again - I just wish they would add Skype.

I never let my lists get loaded. If someone never comes online, off they go.

I have about 1k on trillian too - problem is, about 30% are orphaned and trillian doesn't look like they 'figured' out what the problem is.

I do mass cleanings often though - but keep history folders backed up 'just in case' I ever need to refer to the history after I've removed them.

When I left WEG I deleted everyone but friends. I only have 1 or 2 now :(
