Journal/Diary/Forum Software For Single Girl Amateur Site???

I'm looking for some software for our new site (NaughtyJulie) that will allow Julie to interact with her members and the members to interact with each other. I'm not sure I want to go with something as complex as vBulletin or whether I even want to go with an actual "Forum" at all. Anyone have any suggestions?

Try looking around at blogs and see what exactly the format is you like then take a peek at the PHP scripts at

What about a blog? Kinda in the middle between a forum and you can still do frequent updates for a daily journal/diary.

I think I'm looking for a little more functionality than a blog however I'm a bit concerned about a full blown forum. We're talking about "surfers/members" so I don't want to be spending half the day answering support e-mails asking, "How do i......", etc. It should have maximum functionality and at the same time be "super user friendly".

BTW, I heard you won a little prize the other day :winkwink:

hehe, talk about great timing, I tune into the chat room and right away Aimee announced the question. I didn't even know what I won until she said it, lol. Talk about luck :)

well peachez, her forum has lots of her members on it, and its very active.

think katesplayground does too. if your model is dedicated it should work, and if its vbulletin you can skin it to her site

use phpBB - it's free and a snap to install. you don't have to setup a bunch of categories - you can do just one 'Talk With Julie'.

check out hotscripts for simple messageboard or 'guestbook' scripts.

LOL, see why I was surprised when Aimee said I won... I thought it was a general question, not a contest :)

Hackers just love phpBB. If you don't care about people accessing and messing around with your server, then phpBB is fine for a free script.

we use phpbb and wordpress, and I have skinned them both to blend into our members area

the members love having both, and they have told me personally that they do

everything is behind the members area, so there is no worry about phpbb security, because if someone fucks with it I can check the logs and trace their ip to the login used and then use their billing address and get them

I actually use phpbb for a LOT of shit in our members area

I have the support forum for members to post content requests and tell us things wrong with the site we haven't caught yet

i also have a news forum, that has seperate forums for all the different news niches, porn, entertainment, world, etc...and I feed that with a rss feed input plugin for phpbb, so it updates automatically

I have tabitha's forum where she chats with fans and they ask questions and she gets scared from the questions they ask (haha)

I also have a bullshit forum where members can chat freely

I have all forums set to not require a username and password because they are in the members area, all i ask is that they post their username when posting
