I know someone that spent 5,000.00 for a banner spot for a dating site. (non adult)

Ran it for a month got 100,000 Pageviews a day and 2-3 clicks a day.

Wow, that is grisly.

You have to understand about myspace's traffic.. 90% of them know a little more then your avg porn surfer. Most of them have learned some code or how to steal HTML/CSS

Most of them can tell what a banner and ignore it. (Click here you won a prize beat Arnold weightlifting) ect.

There are ways to convert any traffic ;-)

So would you say trying to advertise a site like the one in my sig (babedirect) would be pretty hard to do?

Only 5k? That sounds very very low. I think your "someone" was bullshiting.

Break.com charges 7k for a week.

MySpace is under alot of heat and have alot of people watching it/patroling because tons of pedos and pervs are stalking.......

the last thing they want is adult sites. so no....you can't buy a banner, and yes....if you spam shit on your own profile as soon as they catch you they will shut you down. Mainstream is ok to a certain extent....adult is a big no no.

I would never advertise a dating site on myspace.
Lots of people already use myspace for dating.
It's free, full of profiles of half naked people, and it allows you to search for singles in your area.

So it is unlikely anyone is going to want to leave that site to go pay somewhere else.

Advertising adult material on myspace is just asking for trouble considering you only need to be 14 to join the site. We all know that there are probably a ton of underage kids on there...Not a smart move. I declined to add a known sponsor that set up a profile the other day...
