I'm sitting in the back of a 150+ student criminal law lecture browsing GFY and getting caught up on e-mails while my professor is running his mouth. It's not uncommon for students to be using laptops in this class. During a moment of COMPLETE silence i happen to mouseover on the OCCash banner. And guess who didnt have thier volume muted? Oh well.

Probably by looking at the browser window and reading the url name? Lecture is really boring usually and a laptop on a desk is going to be looked at by others especially if porn pops up on it or some sound comes from it. One time I was on yahoo cam with my X while she was in lecture in med school, got messages on im from 2 chics sitting 2 rows behind her telling me not to distract everyone, so it does happen.
