Why are non nude site designs so simple?

Every non nude site I see is extremely simple in design. Most solo girl sites have a professional layout. Could someone explain some of the reasoning behind it?

After Shock Media 04-07-2006 11:24 AM

Maybe simple works.

AmateurFlix 04-07-2006 11:32 AM

my guess would be one person made a successful site with a simple design and lots of others tried to do likewise...

Joey B. Lo 04-07-2006 11:32 AM

For one nn sells itself. Also simple does work, its always worked best for me. I think the secret behind it with nn, or amateur sites for that matter, is simple gives the impression the model herself is somehow directly involved with the creation of her site. A really flashy, pro looking site just causes suspicion among surfers that its not an authentic homemade non nude site (which I imagine are the ones people like the most). Just my :2 cents: on the subject.

Thanks for all of the responses. Anyone else?

(taking zero personal faith behind what I am saying)

Non nude site owners are cheap asses.
Non nude sites cost very little to produce.
Non nude models cost very little to pay.

So why mess it all up and pay for a design?

czarina 04-07-2006 12:12 PM

I think there is a true in both sides of the reasonings shown here:

1- yes, they are trying to save money, because they didn't have much to start with

2- after they have started making money, they realize that they have a successful product in their hands.... so, why fix something that is not broken?

Cause even "shit" needs to be marketed in style

The Heron 04-07-2006 12:30 PM

haha, funny.
Cause I've never seen any hardcore sites with simple designs... ya nn is just odd!

Are you really that stupid?

Because most NN sites are single model amateur sites and with that SIMPLE SELLS. I have no idea why the hardcore / softcore single model sites don't use simple but they don't. Probably the high number of idiot webmasters that get their dicks hard when they see some pretty lights on the page.

Give us an example. There's a lotta subjectivity in this topic.

http://www.nextdoornikki.com - Simple Design
http://www.tiffanyteen.com - Simple Design

Those are both successful NN sites. I am trying to discover a non nude site with a more professional design that is succesful. If there isn't one, there has to be more reasons.

madawgz 04-07-2006 12:47 PM

simple does work :)

I like those both. There's a word that starts with A.

It's like a photographer trying to simulate "amateur" pics - it goes against the grain to try and actually produce images with rough edges :)

Another example is a friend who edits a mens mag - he don't want to see any photosets shot on formats larger than 35mm. "Rough" and a bit grainy can be fine - their circulation figures prove it.

I will never understand why any guy want to join a nn site.

purescotty 04-07-2006 04:15 PM

Less is more.

But for most NN it's definitely for the amateur feel.

People that join playboy dont know about Twistys otherwise things would be different. Plus people really do read the articles.

Twistys magazine would kill it.
