Monday I Buy Books

Every Monday I go and buy a few books to read for future weeks or whenever. Was curious as to what, if any of you read and what it is?

This is what I purchased today:

Bukowski: Notes Of A Dirty Old Man,
On The Campaign Trail 72: Hunter S Thompson,
Foundation Flash 5: FriendsOfEd.com,
Flesh And Machines: Rodney Brooks,
JAVA AWT Reference: O'Reilly

:winkwink:

I tend to read and reread my current collection of about 75-100 books. It takes a lot for me to buy something 'new' and untested. Anything I buy new has to be by an author I know to be worth my time and effort. I'd rather go to the library for 'new' stuff, its cheaper.

Bukowski: Notes Of A Dirty Old Man

The Java and Flash books have price tags of over 100 bucks, but I got them for 2 bucks a piece :winkwink:

This set of books cost me under 10.00. Library? Nah... used book stores.

I re-read my collection too, unfortunately it consists of quite a few hundred books more along the lines of 2000. Including all my Vintage Art books (oversized) and Vintage Horror Paperbacks. Yeah I collect Vintage books and first editions of all Stephen King and such... lame but it looks cool in my studio!

Brooks is the man when it comes to the next generation of robots. his research at mit completely changed the direction everyone else was heading in terms of ai in mobile robotics.

Mark Tilden and his BEAM robotics philosophy is also well worth checking out.

I'm finally getting around to reading the third Harry Potter book....so help me, the first two turned me into a Harry Potter addict...

I'm also looking forward to reading Bruce Campbell's autobiography.........

I recently broke out my George Soros' "Alchemy Of Finance" and got my wife to read it..she's not much of a reader, but it's got her attention so far.......

Me too, reading is for dummies. Everything good is turned into a movie or a tv show.
