Tool AND Guns N' Roses are playing

At a big festival in 2 months here in Germany. I might have to fly back for that. Anyone else planning on going?

Project-Shadow 04-06-2006 10:17 AM

They're also playing Download Festival [with Metallica]
GnR really shouldn't be called that anyone though.. more like Axel and Band. :1orglaugh

Abithefiend 04-06-2006 10:23 AM

while that guy is a great guitar player, it's a shame that GnR now has a guy that wears a chicken bucket on his head. :(

It is kinda weird I guess, the two definately don't go together aesthetically, but man Buckethead kicks ass. His solo stuff is great.

I read an interview that he got fed up with Axel's bullshit though and stopped playing with them, is he back?

escorpio 04-06-2006 11:18 AM

The real GnR (minus Adler) will reunite before 2010. Mark my words.

he's definitely one of the best guitar player out there. but his chicken-bucket-head schtick is like a comedic novelty, though. is he actually some famous guy under the bucket just playing around?

I would really like to think it will happen but i just dont think its ever going to. They just hate each other to much. I dont think there is enough money to get them on the same stage. Its like the Misfits or the Smiths. The hate blinds them so much that they cant see the $$$.

If it ever does happen though...Even just one show...Anywhere...Then Ill be there...

No, hes Buckethead. It's not Eddie Van Halen or Clapton under the bucket, he does it because he doesn't want to really be a famous guitar player. :2 cents:

If they ever did a U.S. tour I guarantee they would sell out every venue they played in. They could do just a tour of the major cities, like 8 cities at 2 or 3 nights a city and make millions.

The more people think it will never happen, the bigger deal it will be when it does. They are well aware of this. :winkwink:

FilthyRob 04-06-2006 11:50 AM

Sounds like it will be a great show!

Oh i agree totally...I had tickets to the show in Switzerland in the mid 90s when they booked a one off reunion...Of course they cancelled...They could cash in easily but they hate each other so much they dont care...

Its like the Smiths...They recently got offered 5 Million to play one show...Morrissey and Marr both said no...They were offered almost twice that a few years ago for one show and turned that down too...Thats how deep the hate runs when some of these bands split up...

Nader 04-06-2006 11:57 AM

I've seen them both in concert great shit man..TOOL Rocks :thumbsup

Hollywood Horwitz 04-06-2006 03:37 PM

does G n R only play their old songs or do they have orginals w/new line up? I'm sure the new ones will be wack ass and sound like everything contemporary...

VicD 04-06-2006 03:40 PM
