Apple releases software to let Macs run Windows
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Apple Computer Inc. on Wednesday rolled out a software patch that enables its Intel-based Macintosh computers to install and run Microsoft Corp.'s Windows XP operating system.
Apple said that the new software, called "Boot Camp" is available as a download beginning today. Cupertino, California-based Apple said in June 2005 that it would shift to microprocessors made by Intel Corp., the world's biggest chipmaker, from those made by IBM. It plans to move its entire Mac line to Intel chips by the end of 2007. http://go.reuters.com/newsArticle.jh... c=rss/topNews |

I'd love to see the death of Mac.

I wonder how this will effect Mac OS line. they're opening the doors for Microsoft to take over another market. But, there have been emulators in the past that allow this. I'd like to see how stable and what errors comes up if any

someone enlighten me
what is the purpose of a mac then again?? |
I think Apple will still continue to develop their own OS - they have no choice. Otherwise their tech support lines and Genius Bars would be packed with people wanting to know how to deal with all the glitches in Win XP and the upcoming Vista.
This is a good way for them to get a foothold into the corporate market, outside of graphics/advertising/DTP. |
Macs are only useful to people who actually want to get some work done and not for those who enjoy crashes, virus etc.
