MSNBC says CHILD PORN is a $20 billion industry

Some lady on MSNBC said online music a $3 billion industry and child porn is a $20 billion industry. I think this is a HUGE load of shit. I've never looked for it but if there was that much of it I think people would be accidentally stumbling into it.

After Shock Media 04-04-2006 06:15 PM

You mean it is even bigger than the adult industry? Well crap.

Pure Evil 04-04-2006 06:15 PM

thats funny because i never hear of anyone actually making money off of it only trading it amongst themselves. so i would have to call bullshit on that estimate

Doctor Dre 04-04-2006 06:16 PM

Well that lady is full of crap .. it would mean it's bigger then the actual adult industry as a whole

split_joel 04-04-2006 06:18 PM

but human trafficing is by far the highest crime in the world, kids get shipped to highest bidder all over the world and if your whilling to pay the kids are sold for sex, pictures, whatever its one of the biggest crimes in the world so i think they prob make a shitload of it

KRL 04-04-2006 06:18 PM

That's Donna Rice Hughes. She's a hardcore anti-porn activist.

She makes up numbers all the time without any factual support.

The worst thing though she always tries to make the adult entertainment industry and the CP industry one and the same which everyone knows is total bullshit.

Smartt 04-04-2006 06:19 PM

Bullshit. Child porn is hideous, but commercially speaking, isnhahaha180;t even a niche.

tony286 04-04-2006 06:21 PM

also where do they get these numbers ? Its funny she is all high and mighty now ,this is the same girl who was sucking a married presidential candiates cock on a boat.

Nicky 04-04-2006 06:22 PM

pure shit talk. She has no idea what she is talking about.

Seriously doubt it Kard - and, yea, we prob would be stumbling over it if it was that big :)

Tho... there sure is a lot of interest in this if you check the volumes of search engine queries - makes ya wonder how many weirdos there are out there!

Furious_Male 04-04-2006 06:33 PM

MSNBC and CNBC are nothing but misinformed media whores with self interest in mind.

John69 04-04-2006 06:35 PM

she must mean porn, not cp.

she has her facts messed up.

LOL then when is Fox News? I think MSNBC is fair. They fairly let anyone on lol.

Matt 26z 04-04-2006 06:43 PM

I don't know if it was the same lady, but someone also said that the child porn and adult sites feed off of each other. These people will say anything to advance their cause.

warlock5 04-04-2006 06:48 PM

The transparency of some of this bullshit is pretty obvious. Those shows are entertainment and little else. I switch on CNBC, FOX, CNN, and MSNBC during commercials on occasion, its not even worth glancing at for a second.

How's that make them any different from all the other networks?

As for the figure that dumb broad threw out, is there any way to even remotely guesstimate how much money child porn would make? I mean, in order to know how much it makes you'd need sales figures and good luck getting those... Not like anyone would put "child pornography" as source of income in their tax forms...

Phoenix 04-04-2006 06:50 PM

fuck her for spreading lies

if she was knowledgeable maybe she'd do some good for those children instead of being dismissed in the minds of many as a lune

Spunky 04-04-2006 06:50 PM

And you wonder why the adult business gets a bad name..bullshit propaganda

I tivo hardball so my tv was already on that channel. I wasn't really watching I just overheard it.

tony286 04-04-2006 07:47 PM

I would say if you want news just straight NPR is the best for that. The only opinions you get are the guests not the hosts.

Meta Ridley 04-04-2006 07:58 PM

20 Billion around the world. I can believe it.

DaddyHalbucks 04-04-2006 08:12 PM

Bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The media make so many ridiculous errors, it is sickening.

:(

Drake 04-04-2006 08:20 PM

maxxx_fucktor 04-04-2006 09:17 PM

that's totally BS, how did she came up with that idea? :Oh crap

V_RocKs 04-04-2006 09:23 PM

She fumbled numbers from a previous source...

In that story the adult industry makes $20 Billion and someone was talking shit about how Republicans aren't doing enough to stop it and how Democrats gave us the red carpet treatment and our industry supposedly is directly linked to child porn...
