.EU domain question
does anyone know which domains will be available for public registration in 3 days?
I am interested whether the domain names that are sunrise "application pending" will be available too? If not, then how long will they have that status? check www.whois.eu for reference to check sample domains |
From what I understand the Sunrise applications should've been handled by now, so if they're not regged by Friday, then they're fair game. I could be wrong though, so don't take my word for it. Read through some accredited .eu registrar's rules, they may have it explained somewhere.

My understanding is sunrise pending has been pre-paid - So when the domains go free-for-all on the 7th, those pre-paid domains will be taken by the first person who pre-paid (Some domains could have been pre-paid upto five times)

so names like biotechnology.eu where there are only two applicants will be perhaps avaiable since there are only two applications for it and perhaps none of them have sufficient right for this domain..... but i wonder why are names like sex.eu still not taken ( still pending applications ) while f.e ringtones.eu or apartments.eu seem taken
so you're saying all the 100+ sunrise applications for a name like sex.eu have to be considered and either all declined or one of them accepted till april 7th ? and if no application is accepted, it will be available for public on April 7th ? ok, thanks for the opinion, maybe someone else knows more... i am a little confused by this process, especially since the Americam registrars that Im using didnt offer much explanations on this |

if the .EU Registry decides none of the applications have sufficient rights, I think certain sunrise names may be available for public again, but will it be already on April 7th? |
the sunshine period ain't over yet. all applicants who complete the paperwork, have an eu presence and/or are owned by an eu citizen and supply trademark documentation by the 6th will essentially freeze up those domains until the approval or non-approval happens on those specific applications. then (june i think) all of the frozen domains that were not appoved will become available to the public again.
so when the landrush hits, you will have the ability to reserve any domains not already registered "available" - but some domains will be "application pending" and therefore not available as of yet. there are still 3 letter, dictionary and lots of goodies that have no applications or registrations according to whois.eu so good luck to all in the landrush. |
I have just looked through my account on eurodns and can see I have been credited some cash back for domains I had pre-paid for.
All the other domains appear in 2 lists: 1) domains applied for 2) my preregistered and successfully confirmed .eu domains So I assume those I paid for during the sunrise period will be given to me except those that eurodns have refunded - I am hoping this is the case - If so, I have some pretty good domains that have made decent amounts in previous sales in the .com version. Also presuming those refunds were given on domains I was not first to save - |

I have a few hundred pre-registered. I can't wait for the 7th! (pre-registration ws free, you only pay when they snatch it.)
|
