Acquaintence to a Scandal...
 

I got in from Phoenix to find this huge lobbyist payoff scandal making the top news story in my hometown... and I actually knew the men who are at the centre of it!

Way back in the day when I was in army cadets, the one guy Erik Bornmann was my first ever Section 2IC and in later years tried to get me involved with the Young Liberals. Sure enough, the scandal involves his connections to the provincial and federal Liberal parties.

The guy he's ratting out is the cousin of this family of brothers (the Basi family) that were the bad boy thieves in my cadet corps -- I even was Section Commander of the boys at one time! I should have seen it coming because I can remember when we'd sell poppies to raise money for our war veterans for Remembrance Day (Nov 11), and those Basi boys would steal any donation that was a quarter or more!

I think this is absolutely hilarious!
