SoulRebel shaving and nats ? for you

You make some very intresting points about shaving. What are your thoughts on pps programs that use nats do you think they are shaving at all?

Shoehorn! 04-04-2006 08:04 AM

Can you post a link to the discussion you're talking about?

Saw the thread where Soul Rebel wrote his piece and sort of gets you wondering just how much, if any, shaving goes on -
I have nats installed and will be going live with it soon - Like any programme, it looks good - no obvious shave features - But, as you know, a page added to your tour with your own track code and left for an hour or two will shave sales. Nothing nats can do about that kind of webmaster -
I am all for allowing affiliates to sign up to check if the programme is being run honestly - But, there are many more affiliates that would try to take advantage of this situation - Catch 22 all round, really -
At the end of the day, you have to send your traffic to people you can trust - and take your chances.

It just seems if you really want to shave why would you even bother using nats, seems like it would make things more difficult.

Not any more difficult than any other affiliate software. You can't rely on software to protect you, it is the company you should be trusting.

Screaming 04-04-2006 11:30 AM

You can shave with any software. Everyone knows that. Anything is possible.

No way.

:winkwink:

I think NATS allows the webmaster to setup the time frame the surfer has to sign-up within so the sale is credited to the affiliate. With ccbill this is not possible, since you see the setup of affiliate programs(cookies lenght in this case).

That is quite a feature if it works as you say it does

Nicky 04-05-2006 07:50 AM

it was mad shave-o-mania a few years ago, what makes everyone think it doesnt exist now days? Sure it might be less but it's no way near not happening.

Didn't see this thread till now.

Well you know how this goes...since we plan to use NATS with the release of new DA someone like me should avoid answering such question or lie. I will innovate.

We picked NATS as an advanced affiliate platform with good support and that's all about it. We want our affiliates to trust primarily our company and not to count on any 3rd part as "guarantee" of our honesty. Do a search for a recent thread with title word "clicktruth" and you'll see what I mean.

Now back to your question. I won't be suprised at all if some of the current aff. programs using NATS (or any other aff.platform) are shaving their webmasters. NATS clients list is growing pretty fast which is great. Personally I have my doubts about the honesty of few of them. Among those there's an owner of aff. program I caught shaving in 2002 and some I've suspecting but with no evidences.

You're going to NATS? How come? Why fix it if it's not broken? :2 cents:

You stole the words right outta my mouth. Get in contact with the companies you promote. Dont just blindly put up links and hope for the best. You should build a relationship, it is a business after all.

hey blingdaddy. We are not exactly moving to NATS. We'll have a hybrid system allowing affiliates to use ccbill as payment method and still check their stats from NATS, create campaigns etc. Those affiliates that want to get paid by epassporte will make use of NATS stats exclusively. So you can see it as a step going forwards offering more options, than changing something that works :)
