Are you fucking SIRIUS????

This shit rocks.

Just realized today, my new car has it built in.. went to listen, it told me to call a number, i called it and within 2 minutes i was live.

Great stations, I dig the hair metail "Hair Nation" lol. The hiphop shit is a little too trendy for me, i hate some of that radio shit.

Overall, this shit is badass. it as hilarious, between one of the songs, the dude was like, "We got Blake from Downey who wants to give his wife a message.... ""Honey I just wanted to tell you I love you and I want to do you in the pooper!"

I was LOL'ing. This shit's great. Havent heard Howard yet, when's that on?

From my experience it sounds like a really poor mp3, so i'll stick to my Ipod and Tom Leykis. Who is much better then Stern anyway.

from my experience, blasting sirius for about an hour today, it sounds perfect. i have a 6 disk changer also (which plays mp3s). sirius is only 14 bucks per month, unless you're hurting for money, who cares...

oh ya, i also have the iPod setup. (dont use it though.)

not sure who tom leykis is.

aflex 04-01-2006 10:42 PM

sirius fucking rocks.. channel 100 is howards main station, during the week you can catch replays of the show all day with short howard news updates.. also special programs at 7pm EST on channel 100..

NFL Radio
Hiphop stations
Rawdog
Howard Stern
Octane
^all kick ass

69pornlinks 04-01-2006 10:47 PM

also there's a playboy station you must opt in for that...198 haven't checked it out yet

OG LennyT 04-01-2006 10:49 PM

Playboy channel is cool, just opted in today.

I like Buzzsaw and Roadhouse (when I am in relax mode)

i realise im prob the minority and just old and cranky , but i cant see myself paying for radio. I have an mp3 player and about 20 cd's full of every song i like basically. I never get sick of it.. I dont listen to the radio much anymore. I dont even mind the commercials , but theres too many of them.. If they toned down the commercials i bet people would listen more to the free version. Cant even listen to radio while im working anymore because they crank these annoying std psa's twice as loud as the music during the break..

erehwon 04-02-2006 02:11 AM

I've had Sirius now for a month and I can't recall when I have listened to a local Chicago station since! :thumbsup

Sirius has much more than just the music (which BTW, is commercial free:thumbsup. I enjoy being able to listen to Fox News, CNN, CourtTV and CSPAN while in the car, which is especially nice if I have to go somewhere and there is something happening I am really interested in following.

Then there are the comedy channels, which is always fun. As far as music, I hadn't listened to music in the car for the better part of a decade, now I am checking out generes I would have never had CDs of to take with me... and liking some of it:)(but not enough to go buy CDs:upsidedow)

You can entertain yourself with a Sirius subscription almost as much as with a Cable TV subscription, and at little over $10/month cable can't touch it for entertainment value. I got the lifetime subscription so in the long run the per month cost will be even less. Don't look at it as paying for the radio programming, but toward the expense of uplinking channels to satellite, then divide that cost by a couple hundred channels:upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow

potter 04-02-2006 01:18 PM

mmm serius

KRL 04-02-2006 01:23 PM

Sirius is good, but since I added XM also, I'm liking the music selections on XM much more.

And I love XM's interactive Top Twenty on Twenty channel where you can vote your favorite songs to play.

HorseShit 04-02-2006 02:40 PM

this thread makes me want to go for a ride in my car to listen to it.. check out playboy on 198, 4-7pm weeknights, night calls

MattO 04-02-2006 02:44 PM

its only lifetime of the unit you have. if it craps out on you, you will be paying another lifetime fee [if you want to] on your new unit.

and yes stern is a fucking retard. all he ever talks about is his small dick and women he wants to touch in the right places.

I've run both XM, and Sirrius for a bit of time, and Sirrius quality wise was much better. They use a variable bandwidth for their stations so that for example: more heavily listener populated stations, and stations with more music content versus talk content will get more bandwidth and sound better. XM was on a fix bandwidth, and you could really hear the quality degradation when comparing them side by side. I did slightly prefer the content on XM to Sirrius, but will take quality over quantity and fucking day of the week.

Let me know if you want XM in there to, I'm a pro at high end audio setups, and the install is cake if you know what you are doing.

Black Dog 04-02-2006 06:15 PM

I have heard only the best about satellite radio. Now I am dying to get it. But I can't decide between XM and Sirius. Gonna have to start researching.

you would think by the response of 90% of the people posting in this thread who pick sirius would give you a pretty fair idea.

CyberHustler 04-02-2006 06:20 PM
