if you have a control panel it should be easy other wise you can just create a crontab by crontab -e from the cmd line
|
hm
why you just dont add cron using ssh or control panel at host? it easy as piss. |

login via SSH, then type
crontab -e now you are editing your crontab file... just add your lines after the current cron jobs...save and exit! |

depends what your default editor is...could be pico, pine, emacs...or VIM etc... in VIM you save with ":w" in pico Ctrl+O (if I remember well) etc etc.. |
Only cron I know is Cron Ick. He hangs out with Flip and Roshund.
|
default editor is vi, some people get confused using vi, you can just set the env variable to pico for the editor if you use bash as a shell just EXPORT EDITOR="pico" then do it
|
ok..I was just asking cause on my server the default isnt set to vi...
if it's VI....you have to get in insert mode first ( just press "i" ) now put your 2 lines at the end of the cron file....press "Escape" to go back in command mode...and then ":w" + enter...then you can quit!... " :q " izz: I sent you an auth request on ICQ if you need help |

If you have a good supporting host, ask it ?
I know cron but he doesn't know me...hahaha...lame |
Cron, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, and why we died. All that matters is that today, two stood against many. Valor pleases you, so grant me this one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, the HELL with you!

easy way - put these lines in text file - upload to host and after this add file to cron. but note - you should use full phisical path to files everywhere for get all working.
|
forgot
how add this file: for example you named text file with these lines cron.dat (create this file using usual notepad) upload it to your host and then type in command line: crontab /fullpathtothisfile/cron.dat it most easy way ;) |
Cron and I have been best friends since primary school...
