;)) thanks jim

i did have teh whois look up info i'm more interested in anybodyelse who has dealt with them and whether they had positive dealings - and what their general reputation is.

ie. am i the first person they screwed...

TDF 05-04-2002 05:38 PM

well how did they screw you?

kazzmac 05-04-2002 05:46 PM

Okay, i did a deal for a bulk buy of domains and sent a prepayment for domain credits - and they received my money - issued the credits enough to buy several hundred domains -
i bought 2 domains and then they removed any record of my prepaid credits denying they knew anything of my prepayment and then not returning my emails..i mean wtf?

Scootermuze 05-04-2002 05:53 PM

Sounds like lawyer time.
Hopefully you have a record of payment that might refresh their memory.

You must have proof of some sort? If it was a credit card and you can't get them to pay you back, just do a chargeback. If it was a check, talk to your bank. Either way, you should be able to do something.

Yeah, pay the lawyer instead of filing a dispute with the credit card company. Good plan.

There is a federal requlation in place that gives you 30 days, from the date that your credit card bill cycles, to file a dispute with the credit card company. Some companies are kind enough to extend this timeline. Take advantage of that if you are able to.

Lawyer time indeedy.... anybody know a good one in the Chicago area?

- wire transfer was payment method
ordinarily i'm not a prepayment kinda guy - but i really didn't think a company could be so blatantly dishonest -
i think they are really based in hong kong and use that address as a front

kazzmac 05-04-2002 06:12 PM

Aaron, yeah no doubt i'd agree with you in the event that i'd paid by cc - but wire transfer isn't as easily disputed

And this time its pretty personal - the little shithead owner was all over me when he wanted my money and reduced the price per domain etc and told me what a reputable company he ran

then dissappears of the face of the earth and phone isn't even answering - and no returned messages..

I am willing to throw money at this out of principle - i'm really not pissed at the loss of money with the domains

i'm pissed that cockheads like this can get away with it -
the only time i did get to speak to them after this was - to some asian guy who was so smug and said 'dont know what you talk about.. no record of domain buy' - fucka...

"OnlineNIC is an accredited ICANN registrar."

inform icann about your situation. Lately many registrars turned to scammers. They stop replying your mails etc etc

kazzmac 05-04-2002 06:24 PM

Soul Rebel.... yeah i noticed that - i contacted ICANN

i'm not sure how much authority they hold but its worth a shot

Gemini 05-04-2002 06:58 PM

You CAN get wire transfer records easy enough... SOME bank has to have them since you authorized the release of the funds and they also have the address to where the monies went....

ICANN?? They ARE the authority over accredited registrar companies. God as it were. lol We had a problem with a reg company not wanting to allow us to transfer away from them and after a year we finally contacted ICANN. Got those sites away from them with in 30 days. :winkwink:

No need for attorneys quite yet. Chargebacks and ICANN etc should help alot. But GET those transfer records and email a copy of them to that registrar and tell them you are going to sue as well as see their accredidation revoked. :thumbsup
