Is it just me or does the word "mate" sound gay?
 

Brits loves using this word - "mate", it means friend. I dont know what it is but whenever i hear this word i just think...GAY! I dont know why...

Nah, I don't think so. I have friends that call me "mate", "dog", "bro" and I can honestly say I've never considered myself gay, a canine or shocked to find I had an extended family I never knew about when referred to by any of those terms.

Now if any of them called me "Sugar Pumpkin" - that'd be another story!!!
