Why so many Italian people are named Tony...

When they immigrated to the U.S. they got stamps on their foreheads that said, "To New York" - shortened to T.O.N.Y. and it stuck.

That's my etymology lesson of the day. :thumbsup

Tony is a short name for Antonio, a common name in Italy
