Christianity and porn

Christianity and porn

Interesting fact, the bible does not condem porn.

No mention of it at all.

Lots about stoning people, but nothing on porn.

And yes porn did exist at the time. In fact there was a great deal of it.

So next time some Christian nut bangs on about porn, ask him where it says porn is wrong in the bible. Or is he not speaking for god, but himself, which is blasmesphy.

I'm actually a quite religious person myself - No problems with porn here.

MrIzzz 03-30-2006 06:55 PM

jesus likes the porn:thumbsup

It's the usual bullshit Alan. If you speak with an alleged "Christian" who is not wrapped up in a sect, some weirdo church or have developed their own brand of Christianity to meet their personal needs - the reaction I've found is perfectly sane, rational and no big deal.

It's all the rest of the wannabee perfects and the raving "extremists" who raise the issue more than anyone - they are no better than the favorite hate symbols in extremist Muslim sects.

how did porn exist 2000 years ago? on stone tablets?

Probono 03-30-2006 07:29 PM

I am actually not surprised there is no mention. Do not forget your history. The early christian church was trying to seduce people away from very sexually oriented pagan sects. If they started out to rigid in their doctrine they would not have had the rate of conversion. They took pagan rituals like saturnalia and turned them into things like christmas to attract the masses.

Well they have stuff like this...

Matthew 5:28 "If a man looks on a woman to lust after her, he has committed adultery with her already in his heart."

Among a few others...

Then of course you have this stuff when comes to porn actors..

1 Corinthians 6:18 "Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body."

Scootermuze 03-30-2006 08:02 PM

Then again.. David liked his women..
Lot knocked up one of his daughters..
Ruth loved the dong..
yada yada...

So parts of the bible kinda read like a porn novel...

You know there was some guy on Oprah, who wrote a book, and everyone was saying how this book totally change their lives, made them a better person, because of what this guy wrote and how they believed in him and all his suffering.

Then, it turns out that everything he wrote was a lie.

And this only happened within a few months...

Say hello to the Bible.

Yeah... this is a stupid thread. The bible talks about lust a lot, and thats the whole point of porn. Its definately against Christianity, any attempts to justify being religious and making money off porn is simply bullshit people say to make themselves feel better.

We can not blame christian who believes that there is God and Bible. We have different thoughts in life, We have freedom to choose what we want and where we belong.

porn was being drawn on the walls of caveman ancestors. its as old as we are. when man learned how to create art, and it was early on mind you, he began to tell stories with his art, and draw what he knew and what he liked. and what he liked was porn.

thats just the way it is. thats just the way it will always be. :thumbsup

The argument can be reduced to two simple points really:

There are those who indulge (your porn advocates), who argue that sexuality and lust are simply a part of human nature, of who we are, that such thoughts are instinctual and basic to us, and, by the very nature of being instinct, good.

Then there are the Christians who argue the point of Original Sin. Man, they say, was very much like God in nature while in Eden--entirely pure. And it wasn't until the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge was eaten that sin became part of us, that sin was brought into the world. So, from then on, all men and women were born into the eager arms of sin. We are born dirty, and only through the love of God and the rejection of our base, animal nature can we become pure once more and forever.

So the argument becomes one of Human Nature versus Divine Nature. You just have to choose.

The bible is full of sex, to bad it wasn't illustrated. Also, Jesus was a pimp until age 35. :thumbsup
