settle for less? since that tour went up our conversions are at a steady 1:400 and below, and that includes tgp traffic....if settling for less means settling for a lower converson ratio, then yup, you got me

Some designer do well on some projects and not so good on others - based on the job so hard to say. But I do have to give props where due. Some of your older design are still my favs and set the bar in some cases. Now all you have to do is learn how to drive that jet ski like you create.

to be completely honest, I'm probably rusty. I haven't done anything on a computer since last July. (other than some trash talk).....

Not really an accurate gauge of things in my opinion. I've been to Xbiz's site twice I think, and I doubt they even know who I am. In my view, Xbiz is nothing more than an advertising medium. I don't pay, therefore I don't exist. Along with MANY MANY others.

I'd say it's the mediocre designers. There is some good stuff there no question but it's definately not top tier OMG how did he do that design.

That's the beauty of it - the first semester was 100% online. Second one I went to school 4 hours one night a week (Tues) and everything else was online. Doing the same with this semester. So you can still travel, invest, read, etc. :)

Sports...well, I joined a gym and got a personal trainer there, but that's because I need to get rid of 60 pounds (w/o cutting off an appendage, preferably). But I don't start until Monday. Which means I'll probably quit Tues. :helpme

It's pretty cool. I figured I've been online long enough and worked for myself long enough for the self disipline and thankfully it's worked out.

I swear I had one teacher that NEVER read what I wrote though. Pissed me off. We were supposed to write a paper on Elizabeth Kubler-Ross's 5 stages of grief and she wanted us to write it on anything: "Divorce, death, etc.". I wrote explaining that EKR's 5 stages were for people who were terminally ill, not someone who got a freaking divorce, lol! I argued each and every point. She gave me 100. No way she would have done that if she really read me telling her she was basically a dumbass :thumbsup

Haven't ever checked prices in Hawai, but isn't 2.1 mill not that much for a home there.

I figure amp is entitled to a bit of arrogance... imo... 95% of the industry follows his lead by telling their designers to "do something that looks like this".... but I also think that good design is only a part of the puzzle - brand, cover model, text, etc. all are important and not necessarily areas a designer has control over.

While I won't say who I think is hot - I will say that I judge a designer by their ability to interpret their client's style uniquely and not just slapping the same style on every product/site/etc. regardless of content.
