anyone making money in the non-nude niche

Thinking of diving into this area and was just curious if anyone is really doing well with it.

clickhappy 03-29-2006 11:33 PM

I just tried it and lost money promoting it.
the site I was promoting was high quality too and I sent all search engine traffic to it, but no one bought.
0:3262 on search engine traffic, lol
hope you have better luck than me if you try it

I've had pretty poor ratios with search engine traffic with the keywords of the girls names I was promoting. I've promoted quite a few Non-Nude sites, and most suck. Also, watch out for refunds from the sites that like to surprise the surfer and not let them know there's no nudity until they reach the members area.

Surprisingly though, even though his girls are way over-exposed now, i've had the most luck with a few Phil Flash girls. Still nothing next to nude sites, but you can make sales, and the rebills rock for the right girls. Maybe they stick around and just hope one day they'll get a peak or a slip or something, but i've had 9+ rebills on a few girls.

Well dugmor shown me some stats and we talked for an hour or two about non nude sites vs single girl sites with nudity once. And he definitly done well for himself with his nn sites.

I think www.BeautifulAgony.com is very compelling...

I only just set it up for a review though, so I can't tell you how well it does yet.

Go to www.ifilm.com sometime and do a search for "romantic death". Pick the 3.14 (ish) video and watch it. That's done with BeautifulAgony content and it has great viral potential.

We don't generally promote non-nude sites though.

our NN sites are still our #1 money makers, but I dunno about NEW nn sites coming into the game. We see too many guys shutting sites down. Luckily, we pay our models upfront, so none of our sites will ever be taken down. Hit us up for a pass to see the member's area.

Jim3k 03-30-2006 08:20 AM

I'm not :-(

jayeff 03-30-2006 08:51 AM

I suspect that affiliates who successfully promote NN sites are those who develop/filter traffic specifically for them. I would guess that sending "regular" porn surfers is not likely to work better than it does for "photography" sites like MET and Hegre.

Many sponsors and affiliates seem to think that NN is just porn with clothes on, but it is a niche in its own right, so content and presentation must press the buttons of the surfers looking for this kind of material.

I have a feeling that non-nude sites promoted from porn sites (link sites, TGPs, etc) might not do so well... I would think you would have to promote them specifically to clients looking for non-nude.

The other part of the problem is that non-nude often includes underage models, which in turn leads to issues with promoting them on porn sites (pandering, anyone?). I think some people might signup and then be very disappointed that the girl never actually gives it up. I am wondering what the chargebacks and stuff would be on porn source traffic.

Correct. You really have to filter your traffic because a LOT of places will not promote you because there is no nudity. So what you end up with is less traffic, but very well filtered traffic for conversions.

It's definately a bit tricky by comparison. You can't just throw shit at a wall, that's for sure.

:Oh crap
