Say you had an extra $200K to spend on a car, what would you buy?

My current portfolio includes:

2006 Lexus GX
2005 Caddy STS4
2006 Mini Cooper
2006 Nissan Titan

I love all my rides but I feel I need something insane :)

How about spending the money on something that won't depreciate 50% in the first year. Cars suck.

Id buy a 6k Econoline van for the maintenence guy I'd hire to take care of the two houses I bought with the other 194k that I would immediately rent to college students.

If you work, work, work, work.. you'll die of cardiac arrest or gastric ulcer before you use your money.. I personally want to make sure my possible future offspring will have a good life, of course, but I'm not gonna go and buy them porsches for their 16th birthday..no matter how much money I'll have in the bank. I won't even buy them a used pinto. Make their own goddamn money.. but if they *need* something, I'll get it...this is of course, if I ever figure out how to make babies.

I'd buy an original, REAL 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 and trick it the fuck out. With the couple bucks left, I'd put it in one hell of a nice garage with a full set of snap-on tools and my own lift. :)

200K huh? That is a little too low for the super exotics.

I guess you could get an very high end AMG, and GT2 Porsche/911 Turbo or an older Ferrari. You could also get a nice Aston Martin or a Lambo Garwhatever

200k will get you into an 06' Gallardo..After driving Porsche's for so many years I am more than impressed with the Lambo. However,if you go for one,be ready for an almost annoying amount of attention.Every time I take the car out,people are pulling along side taking pics with their camera phones.
Stopping off for fuel is an event with people wanting to know about it.
In all the years of driving Porsche I never had any of that stuff.

If I were going to do it again,I would absolutely get another Lambo.It's that much fun to drive.

Gallardo Sport AWD or the Gallardo Roadster....hands down.

well, the guys from top gear would agree with you. But i dont give their opinions about UK cars much value.... theyre extremely biased; every UK car is better then any other car according to them

See, you answered for me. You just dogged me for my comment about cars depreciating then you say buying cars isn't smart. That's what I said in the first place.

There are better ways to spend money and have fun. We drive decent cars, but not super expensive cars. Belinda and I both have mid $30k vehicles.

$200k for a vehicle is a bit retarded in my opinion. Everyone has a different opinion.

I'd rather buy another house. I have 2 so far. That's not enough.

Or I'd spend that $200k as a nice down payment towards a new Cessna Turbo Skylane.

I more then realize that cars are not a great investment, that is why I stash my loot is silly things like real estate, and I have aquired a very nice portfolio.

I also have been very happy driving what I have driven up till now. Never been a huge car guy.

BUT, I feel like buying a super kick ass ride. So I am going to :pimp
