For those that care.. Health update
 

Looks like the healing proxess isnt going as well as the doctors and nurses had hoped. The necrotic (dead) tissue on my leg is coming back in almost the same spot as before. The wound vac is doing its job everywhere it seem but that one spot, so theyre thinking that they may need to admit me to a rehab facility for a week or 2 so that I can get the care that the home care nurses cant give me. Theyve been coming every 2 days to change the dressing, but they feel I need more care as in daily dressing changes. I hate the thought of being admitted again, but the place they wanna send me isnt exactly a hopsital setting so maybe it wont be that bad. lol Pretty nurses, a nice soft bed, meals served to me 3 times a day and maybe even a whirlpool bath a few times a week. Doesnt sound too bad does it? Actually i would rather be peartying and making contacts in Phoenix, but this is the shit ive gotta go thru to get to that point I guess. lol Maybe if all this works out well, ill be able to make the show in Amsterdam this fall. Thats been my goal since the show there last year. Anyway, with this new laptop, hopefully the rehab place will have a wifi hotspot I can tap into to work while im there, or if not ill at least have dialup lol Hate it but whats a guy to do in my situation? Anyway, thanks for all the donations, thoughts and well wishes. Other than a few minor setbacks im on my way to recovery. Im even off the walker for the most part. That in itself is a major accomplishment considering what I was like when I first got outta the hospital :)

Hell ive even weaned myself off of the percocets. Im not bragging. Its just that ive run out of them basically lol And I cant get any more for a week or so. But the farther I get away from the last one the more I realize how much of a crutch they really were. Late at night sometimes I could really use one.. But for the most part during the day an aspirin or tylenol does the trick. Or 2.... lol

I hope that hospital stay saves your leg from being amputated. You have to do what you have to do to save it. No ifs, ands, or buts... Keep positive and good luck!

Nurses were just here. They gave me a referral for a wound care center. They feel that that kind of place can do a better job for me and healing than a plain old plastic surgeon can. I mean hes good and knows what hes doing as far as plastic surgery goes later on, but I need more immediate wound care and this place specializes in wound healing. I have an appointment next Wednesday so we'll see what happens. But the good thing is, no immediate inpatient care is needed.

Yeah good luck. Definitely go to a dedicated wound care center. They specialize in wounds that arent healing "normally" so thats a good idea.

LOL I already have one that comes to my house three times a week. I asked her if she still gets to come and take care of me even when I go to the wound care center. She just smiled and said of course :thumbsup

I have seen my share of open wounds, as i had worked of a medical facility. In my humble opinion The care that you will receive at a Wound Care, will show alot of progress. Keep the faith, wishing you a speedy recovering:)
