HDTV is an eye opener....

I haven't even had my satellite installed (by the time most of you read this, it will be), and so I had to kipe my sons antenna to watch some shows tonight. I didn't know it but he has a digital antenna. And I didn't know there even was such a thing...

So I am like... ho hum... Analog stations look like shit and I decide to let the TV find stations it can receive... It finds about 30 digital stations and when I check those out I am like, HOLY SHIT BATMAN!

Amazing.... I had no idea these channels even existed. And if it looks this good with a coaxel cable from my sons indoor antenna I can only imagine how good it will look when I get my satellite dish installed in the morning.

Now if the US cellular phone companies could start offering 3G like third world countries do, America might be able to reclaim its former greatness!

3G sucks donkey balls, don't bother

Jakke PNG 03-29-2006 03:05 AM

Blah nevermind.

Crap, I was hoping it was the answer to the internet on a laptop at high speeds...

Another nice thing I have in my new pad, Verizon FIOS 15mb/2mb...

Fucking amazing speeds... Basically it puts my T1 experiences to shame... I remember when I thought a T1 was fast.... Not anymore!

It can grab local channels in HD... A regular antenna can only grab analog versions of the channels.

Digital OTA does look good for free however Directv, imho is the best "provider" of HD as far as picture quality and selection available nationwide. They still compress the hell out of the picture though due to bw limitation and if they ever get these new satellites up and running that woudl be nice. By then the telcos will step up with FIOS and it should get interesting.

damn, you just discovered HD tv now? What's next, you will discover this new cool invention called a cellphone?

i'm pretty happy with HD over cable thru cox, damn good picture, looks way better than any dvd. i'll have to check out sat again, but last time i saw a sample of the hd, it looked a little over compressed especially in dark areas. i like the uncompressed look of OTA and cable.
