Whats the best free bbs system to use?
 

I'm starting a bbs link dump and I was wondering what would be the best bbs to use?

Anybody?

Message board software?

PHPBB and PunBB are both free to use.

PHPBB probably has a bigger support and modification community for you to make use of.

I use phpBB. Like candyflip said, there's a good bit of support and a lot of mods for it.

Well I'd rather use a BBS style of program since I won't be posting any RS or megauploader files. It's going to be strictly galleries. I like the bbs style because you can fit a ton of posts on the same page.

PhpBB = might be a big security risk.
PunBB = lightweight and fast

Are there any you can't fake the creation date and max people online? For example: Most users ever online was 16, 12-04-2005 at 08:08 PM. Silly request, I suppose -- :1orglaugh
