In all honesty, i thought the movie was great, love the special effect, surely not everyone agree, however every one is entitle to their own opinion. I'm looking forward in purcharsing the DVD too.:)

lotsa people at Wal-Mart today were clutching "King Kong" DVD I noticed.

Have to say, it looks spectacular on DVD. Wow.

you'll be very pleased with it. the 2 DVD set has some very interesting stuff, like a "History of Skull Island", etc.

first 45 mins dragged, the rest is real good, the dino scenes and bugs were crazy.

I picked up a copy last night for $4 bucks

Wife picked up a copy for me.. She didnt get the 2disc but she did get widescreen version.. Oh well.. i'll just have to rebuy it on HDDVD.

Each aspect of the filmmaking process is exhaustively explored. Jackson pulls back the curtain and Oz is revealed as a place of joyous, if exacting toil.

Just as interesting are the two documentaries. In 28 minutes, Kong's New York, 1933, tells the true story of New York in the early part of the 20th Century, including chapters on Vaudeville, the Great Depression (including the Hooverville shantytown in Central Park) and the building of the Empire State Building at the height of the economic collapse.

In contrast, the 17-minute Skull Island: A Natural History is a wonderfully inventive, mock scientific doc which purports to tell how this remote island, aided by thermal vents opened by earthquakes, harboured the planet's last remaining dinosaurs until it was swallowed by the sea during the 1940s. Using a methodical, scientific approach you would find in a National Geographic special, the filmmakers never deviate from their ruse -- so warn the children not to believe everything they see. Especially when it's the smiling face of Peter Jackson delivering the news.

We actually walked out of the theatre halfway through it.

I saw it a couple of weeks after it on a copy dvd. I thought it sucked balls...

always the day of the DVD release, they have it on sale.......then bang......it shoots up the next day.

but this one is worth it. i recommend the 2 DVD set for those that like the extras.

It took heat during the holidays for failing to reach the supremo- blockbuster status that many predicted, but "King Kong" can do some supersized chest-thumping now.

Released as a single DVD and two-disc set on March 28, the Peter Jackson film logged Universal's best first-week sales in studio history, in six days selling 6.5 million copies for a take of more than $100 million.

The previous record-holder was "Meet the Fockers," a studio spokeswoman said.

The film's brisk DVD sales add to its worldwide box-office haul of $550 million. Its ticket sales make "King Kong" the fourth highest- grossing film in Universal's history, following "Jurassic Park," "E.T." and "The Lost World: Jurassic Park."

Ive got it upstairs, have yet to watch it though.

That was the biggest waste of $4 ever!

We rented it the other night. The action sequences were great, but overall I thought it was ho-hum. I can't stand Jack Black - would've been a much better movie with someone else in the lead role.

king kong kinda sucked

picked my 2 dvd version up a couple of days ago.

that movie sucked balls. jack black does not fit any serious roles. he's just a big dumbass. it's like putting chris farley in a serious movie. i picked up Almost Heros instead, they had it for $9 at best buy.

the feature on Skull Island was really good :thumbsup
