All - seriously - am I missing something here. Help me understand.

From Tranzas post - he got 470,000 views of galleries - and out of that traffic a total of 13,051 hits to the sponsor sites.

Of the 13,051 hits - he landed $253.20 in sales.

Is this correct?

$253 before recurrings.....yes..that is about right...

In mainstream I get.

1150 Clicks at the sponsor site from about 2600 (gallery view equivalent) at my site. Giving me $270 for me from $1820 of product sales.

(I know the comm % isnt excellent but click to $ is what - 12 times better than porn?)

Recurring - hmmmm - Ive not seen much from being an affiliate on recurring $ on porn sites - maybe a couple of months.

Seriously - dudes my mainstream efforts are soooooo easy compared to porn - I didnt even try hard, its an amazing game is this internet thing.

so what do you do in mainstream and whats your "Gallery equivalent"?

I think the concept of "recurring" on porn is a bit bollox actually. Having seen the recurring on some CCbill sites, and also non-ccbill - I would never pin any big hopes on that. Dating I would - not porn tho.

No Jim - it is an examination of how hard it is to convert large traffic volumes into cash in porn.

Doing both porn and mainstream - I find myself making easier money in the latter.

I would hardly say Im bragging with the numbers I posted - would you?

Rather just looking at the convo rates and hit to $ ratios.

I would LOVE to start promoting mainstream.

I've never found a site/board explaining the basis on how to enter this market, what kind of sites to create and to promote.

It's all about what you know how to do better. Some would say they can corrall a few million porn hits easier than a few thousand good mainstream hits. I have seen this to be true in a lot of cases. You can't judge the two based on hits alone.

Both are equally easy IMHO. Many have made five figures daily with just an hour or two of work a day (sometimes less heh) on both sides of the fence.

So fucking true. For me to drive 470k+ clicks to a gallery it takes me 1 hour a day for 10 days. I bet it would take me 6 months to reach that kind of volume in mainstream.

I have many mainstream link sites in a specific niche and you would be suprised at how much like adult it can really be....

i've never had any luck getting mainstream traffic or making money off mainstream sites. couldn't make more than 40 bucks a month. i haven't tried it in ages tho, this was 5-7 years ago. why is mainstream so lucrative now compared to back then? the dot com fallout killed a lot of business and porn seemed to be the big surviver.
