New Approach At Promoting Websites.
Years ago I came up with an idea to embed links to websites and programs into the animation/comics I do. I was going to do an 11 minute animated toon with other still art and have friends who had sites take out an ad or two or three within the action and storyline of the toon. It was a fad that still goes on in Japan where they sell and trade these CDs like crazy. I mean the conventions were so huge they built a new convention center for the top trade showman. He told me the sheer volume and it was like 7 million people would wander through the convention floor each weekend he held an event.
So I told him I would embedd mini-websites into the action/storyline and he thought it was a great idea. Now that the technology has changed it's easier and I can put more stuff on a DVD. I may not need a DVD as a CD can hold it all but a DVD is better as any advertiser can put a fuck load of promo content and sales pitch on including music, vids etc. Basically the way it went was the characters do something and in order to progress the story the user had to click on a link that went to an embedded website/promo and find the next link to progress the story. Sort of like a game but with TITS!. So now that the animation and comics programs are easier and more amicable I'm going to try this again. I'm doing layouts now and have to hire voice talent but there're enough gals in the neighborhood who'll do it just to do it. I don't know how much I'll charge for ads but I figure $50 is fair. The DVDs sell from websites and trade shows. So a cient's link will be permanent. When the user hits the link they get your website popping up and they go through it or they can go to your site online. I'm going to get a couple other cartoonists I know who do animated e-books to do some in this manner as well. Lots of talent out here. |
I like to shit the urls on sleeping homeless' chests.
