Tensions are rising and I have no idea of how it's gonna pan out.

Lets have a big royal rumble and fight it out.

My take is that these folks are here illegally and need to go through the proper channels to get in this country.

No I think you are wrong here, most of mainstream America does not want illegal immigrants. Once a criminal always a criminal. Why is it racist to require anyone immigrating to the USA to go through a process just like every other country?
