New Skull Found In Ethiopia May Be Missing Link?
http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/africa....ap/index.html
Archaeology and anthropology I love. Lotsa fun and grew up around some of the top scientists. Grueling work but fun and rewarding. This story however, if it proves out and looks like it does is going to revolutionize the history books. |
Interesting read

stuff like that is intriguing

If any DNA is extractable from this specimen it could add more data that is invaluable. It's obvious by now that evolution is a reality. Some religions are in a conflict with it but science is science. That was the big argument creationists had. There was no link between the two genus to validate progression. Now there is. |
No pics?

Homo erectus left Africa about 2 million years ago and spread across Asia from Georgia in the Caucasus to China and Indonesia. It first appeared in Africa between 1 million and 2 million years ago.
Between 1 million and perhaps 200,000 years ago, one or more species existed in Africa that gave rise to the earliest members of our own species Homo sapiens -- between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago. that nigga traveled a lot |

uh.. it's not a needed "missing link" in our established lineage. No one doubts that homo erectus or similar evolved into homo sapiens (except for retards) so it's not going to quell any debate.
The whole idea of a missing link these days is preposterous anyhow, if you aren't rational enough to see the blindly obvious from the existing evidence you never will. Even if you found the only real missing link that existed.. the single skeleton of the last common ancestor between us and other great apes it wouldn't convince creationists... most of them don't even understand that evolution doesn't say we evolved from chimpanzees. |
would that be the answer to Charles Darwin's old-age query?
