Why are so many people against death?
 

Is it out of fear? cowardice? nosy? Why are so many against death?

I want answers. i know many of you are of the "bleeding heart pussy" persuasion, so lets hear your answers.

because they are afraid of it

it amazes me that if i had mentioned Bush in this thread, it would be on page 2 by now :disgust

Fear, fear of pain, fear of dying in a terrible car crash. Fear of dying young, fear of the unknown. Most of all fear of pain I think.

if you like death so much kill yourself and post pics....

I can understand that in regards to themselves, but i dont see why they are against strangers dying?

i think it's what we call fear of the unknown, since no one really knows what death is.

nothing happens when you die, its just it....nothingness

but on the other hand if you dont believe in god and there magically is one, im shure he will forgive you ;)

but it still doesn't explain why they are against other people dying.

well i dont fear death...it comes in naturally. if its your time its your time..you cant stop it:upsidedow

It would seem most fear their own death. Not death in general.

We are willing to go to war, bomb, starve, and kill just about anyone, or anything that gets in our way. Look at religon alone throughout history. So death is handed out on a daily basis.

But on the flip side, for some reason people think we are built to live forever, and can fight death. They never face the fact that death is a certainty, and the only different is the 'timing' and way you go.

to some people its not death that they fear, but what would happen to their loved ones if they die. it's more on being unprepared

I am against death because I do not want to die. if you are pro-death then go kill yourself

because we are afraid of the unknown... plus the transition usually hurts!

Sex is great. Hard to enjoy sex if your are dead. So there is one really great reason to stay alive.

There comes a point for some people when it is better to pass on. That is sad and hurts the people that love them.

Here's something really philosophical for ya:

a) say some child in korea is walking through a field and an old landmine goes off blowing him to pieces.

b) a soldier in iraq is shot and killed.

c) a mentally retarded person convicted of murder is executed.

any body have a problem with any of these?

I am not afraid of my own death. It is my family and friend's deaths I fear.

I don't fear death, I only fear the one who gives life and who can take it away.
