Processing a bunch of files or w/e you're doing all at once instead of one at a time. :)

ie Instead of resizing 100 images one at a time by hand there are programs out there that will resize them all based on your settings.

Hope that helps.

Batch processing could also refer to credit cards. Some POS systems perform a preauth quickly to help the lines go faster, then the payments are "batched" at the end of the night.

I can remotely remember writing batch commands in DOS, though I really try to forget those kind of things.

Surely they aren't wanting DOS stuff???

The best I can recall is it was just batching commands together, and using a certain extension on the text file. Then when you ran the text file, the commands inside it executed.

I'm far, far...did I say FAR yet?...from an expert on that stuff though. I took one class, and was thankful that was all I had to do.

This is the first hit I got goggling the term + server

It's enough to make me hypervenilate just looking at it. I'm allergic to server stuff.
