I picked it up yesterday and played about three or four hours. I was impressed. The game play is fun. It's sort of cool with the many differnt ways you can bust people up like bashing their heads into stuff, shooting them in the arm to disarm them, and of course knee caping them. To me that makes the game play much more fun because it does not mean everytime I approach an enemy I have to take the out in the same way.

The story line is cool too. However, it's not stuck to the movie script, so it isn't all just doing junk and then watching movie type animations. There are all sorts of optional things to do like going around and taking over business, taking on hit jobs, etc.

The game has a very nice Grand Theft Auto feel, and yes you can steal cars too. You can do assigned game missions, or if you feel like raising hell, you can just go around busting people up.

The in game stats are great. At any time you can pause and see how many crimes were commited, what styles you have used to mess people up and your progress in the game.

I also like that the longer multi-task missions have checkpoints. So, if you get, say halfway through one, and then get "iced" you don't have to start the whole damn mission over.

Of course I can't finish my review without pluging the violence. This game is filled with it and the nature of the violence appears to be up to the player. You can shot, smash, beat, and blow up enemies in a nearly endless combination of moves. The movie style between mission animations are often packed full of murder and mahem as well. This game leaves no doubt that it is intended for an adult aduience.

I was sceptical of the game at first because I feared it would be one of those games where you do limited things and more or less watch animations that were meant to be like a movie. Sure, there are plenty of those, but they are good, and complement the opened ended play of the game rather well.

I'd give the game a 9 out of 10 if I were to rate it.
