Good Security Home Systems.

Anyone have a link to good websites? Anyone recommend a good home security system with cameras inside and outside the house? Remote control, etc. Money is not a problem.

Cameras won't do shit to protect you.

Get a bunch of professionally trained K-9 dogs patrolling inside and out, and you'll sleep safely all night long.

If youd stop spilling in public "money is not a problem" you probably wont need a security home system

Alarms are useless.they know the cops take atleast 3 minutes if not more to show up..dogs are the best

dogs can be taken out , a cross bow , a bullet , some bait , i mean if an alarm isn't going to stop then , then a dog isn't going to be much different

although alarms don't really stop them but it does shorten the time that the crim spends in your house , get in grab whatever is closest and get out again before the cops and security arrive

the best security is by obscurity , don't draw attention to yourself or your property

True but people ignore alarms..they know they can steal anything they want in atleast 2 minutes

Best part of any system is announcing you have one. So stick in some yard signs and window stickers regardless. Plant things like holly bushes below windows.

I knew a guy who just mounted a huge outdoor speaker (like stadiums use) and stickered his windows and planted signs. Thats all he did, lol. Worked for him.

Trained K-9 dogs will not touch any food or bait handed to them by a stranger. Part of home protection training is designed specifically to teach the dog not to trust anything from strangers.

I had a Police K-9 Instructor train all my GSD's and he'd have the agitator throw a piece of steak over the fence right in front of them and they would just totally ignore it and keep on going after the approaching intruder.

It does take a lot of work to condition them to do this, but once they learn not to eat anything from a strange hand they never will.

This isn't guaranteed with any other breed except German Shepherds. My K-9 Instructor said they were the only breed he'd trust 100% to never fuck up while on duty. They're that smart.

I'd say the best bet is to get a monitored system if you live in a bigger area, however if you wanted to go the camera thing, I'd say one of the best cheapest places to order from is X10, they have some really nice packages, ones that'll even call designated phone numbers if it's set off, here's their site (it's not the neatest looking site) http://www.x10.com/

They even have a dog barking alarm which might be handy -

I myself have a nice 100 pound Pit Bull/Sheppard which keeps my place safe, but I sometimes worry when we're gone out of town and he's at the kennel.

Want a good security plan, you have to look at it like its an onion, layers of upon layers of security. Not saying this has to cost umpteen thousands of dollars, you can install dummy cameras, buy a loud loveable mutt with an authorative sounding bark, place armed response signs in the yard, cut your bushes down, and install lighting behind them (casting shadows on your house if anyone is snooping around), and buy a shotgun and learn how to use it.

This would work for about 90% of homeowners, if you are think you are in that 10% that needs more security, asking a bunch of webmasters and surfers isn't going to get you the advice you really need. IMHO. :2 cents:
